Mr. and Mrs. Harold Smith lett today for French Lick, where Mr. Smith will attend a two day school, sponsored by the Hoosier Farm Bureau Life Insurance Co. The Big Walnut Baptist church is having a basket dinner Friday evening, June 18 at 7:30 p. m. in the church basement. This is to honor the father’s of the church and community. A special program will follow the dinner. Fathers Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars will meet tonight at 8 o’clock at the Gen. Jesse M. Lee Post 1550 Home. This will be the last meeting before the state encampment at South Bend which starts Thursday. Mrs. J. C. Jasper was among those given a Master of Arts degree at the commencement exercises at the University of Houston. Texas on June 4th. Mrs. Jasper is the daughter cf Mrs Kenneth Peck of this city, and formerly taught in the Greencastle City schools. She is now employed as a teacher in the elementary grades at Houston. Emera Club Will Entertain Husbands Members of the Emera Club will entertain their husbands Friday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Mahoney. A carry-in dinner will be served at 6:30 p. m.

Mrs. Hall Hostess To Mothers Service Chib Mrs. Eleanor Hall was hostess to the Mothers Service Club Tuesday evening at 7:30 at her homg on So. Indiana St. Fourteen members and two guests were present. Following the usual business meeting, gifts and cards were presented to those having birthdays in June. The hostess served cooling refreshments during the social hour.
