But, the girls broke tradition by almost unanimously wearing maxis! Message to chaperones MRS. ORLAND CRAIG, MRS. JOHN WILSON, MRS. DAVID WHINREY, and MRS. DENISE COMMEVILLE: Thanks for helping out! Class of ’75. ‘Course going to the BIG high school does have its bad points! TRACY TUBBS is already mourning losing her favorite teacher, MRS. CURRY; BETSY BALDWIN knows how she feels! She would like to bring MRS. MARTIN with her. DAVID FERGUSON has a positive attitude! “All the older kids will beat m e up! ” RALPH WRIGHT has some strange ideas about the size of the high school. “I’ll have to carry a road map with me!” And BILL FOX is looking forward to more fun, more things to do, and more homework ... He must really dig the song, “More.” Cheerleaders SUE WHINREY, JOLYNNE FIDGER, CINDY MEYER, and DEBRA FOSTER will still continue pepping the teams up for the Freshman football season. But, President JAY CRAIG, Vice President GAIL WILSON, Secretary SUE WHINREY, and Treasurer CINDY ARANJO will have their positions up for election next year. The high school will be invaded by unusual students. For example, Tree, Babbler, and Keefer. (Nicknames!) There will be those who are helpful. Girl Scouts CINDY NICHOLS and LAURA WEISS are working at a hospital. And :hose who meditate. MARK HAWKINS, ALAN RAY, SUE WHINREY, JOLYNNE FIDGER, and MARK SAUER attended the last Speedway Christian Church Retreat. Artistic ones who decorate. The stars that twinkled at the dance were patiently created by none other than MARCIA LONG, CAROL MURPHY, VAL KING, CINDY ARANJO, RONDA BORST, JOLYNNE FIDGER, PAULA READ, GAIL WILSON, and SUE WHINREY. Socialites who party. MARC IE SCHAUB and CINDY ROTZ threw after-the-Graduation-Dance parties. Creative ones who write. DAVE SEARS and SKIP SCHROLUCKE were the Sparkler editors. A lot who worry. MR. BAINBRIDGE had to reassure the masses that dales were NOT necessary. A few collectors. Ever wonder what ALAN RAY’S closet looks like with his collections of stamps, rockets, models, mini tanks, and chemistry experiments? And one who gets cleated! DAVID FERGUSON learned the hard way not to stop short when running relays, with a couple of stitches in his foot to remind nim! '

Deaths Of Denver Hughes And Walter Ramsay Sadden S-Way

The deaths of Denver D. Hughes, 67, and Walter L. Ramsey, 77, have marred activities this past week in Speedway. Hughes. 4941 W. 12th Studied Monday at his home where he was a resident for 60 years. A member of the Eagledale Baptist Church, Mr. Hughes was a tool and die maker for MarmonHerrington Co. until his retirement in 1962. Service will be held today (Thurs.) at 1 p.m. in the Conkle Funeral Home with burial in Washington Park east. Survivors include his wife Verdie; two sons, Denny D. of Speedway and Richard Allen of Palmer, Mass.; two daughters, Mrs. Anna Kay Ibut of Mt. Speedway, died last Wednesday in Methodist Hospital. A lifelong resident of Speedway, Mr. Ramsey was an insurance accountant until his retirement in 1962. He was a member of the Clermont Christian Church, Calvin W. Prather Masonic Lodge #717, and the First Associate Grand Guardian of Job’s Daughters in Indiana. Services were conducted last Friday in Conkle Funeral Home and the Speedway Chapel and a Masonic Memorial service was held Thursday evening. Burial was in Lincoln Memory Gardens. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth A M a daughter, Mrs. Janith L. Parsons, and one son, John L. Ramsey of North Palm Beach, Fla.
