Warren Central, North Central and Speedway placed in that order in the invitational speech meet held last Saturday at Ben Davis. Jim Seitz won first place in radio anonuncing, Dave Schnable placed third, Mike Walker, fourth and Earl Woodard, fifth. In oratorical, first place was awarded to Guy Roush, second place to Dave Hayden and fifth place to Marla McCormick. Steve Seabury won first place in discussion, Cindy Rumple placed fourth' in dramatic, Barbara Faris placed fifth in poetry and Candy Walker placed fifth in girls’ extemp. aided 49-48 in the Speedway gym last Saturday night Speedway will play Center Grove tomorrow night in their last game before the sectional tourney. In other games played the past week, the reserves lost to Beech Grove in a dose contest 46-44, and the freshman team defeated Brownsburg by a 41-37 score. Both junior high basketball teams defeated Brownsburg, the Bth grade by a score of 49-39, and the 7th grade by a score of 50-30. Speedway Bth grade team won its invitational tourney last Saturday by winning over Avon by a 41-31 score, and by defeating Decatur Central, 50-41, in the final game. Deaf School won over Avon in the consolation game. Speedway swim team won a dual meet with Franklin, 50-45. At the Columbus sectional held last Saturday, Speedway placed fifth, and Tom Geiman and Kenny King qualified for the state finals to be held at Bloomington, February 19. In the sectional held recently, Speedway wrestling team members who were second place winners in their own weight divisions were Mike Lyman and John O’Farrell. Third place winners were Greg Silver, Mark Forsythe, Dick Wraight and Denny Glidewell. LIBRARY NOTES The Senior High School Library is open late afternoons each week

College Raises Fees For Room and Board Indiana Central College announced today an increase of $25 a semester for room and board, effective next September, but added that tuition would remain unchanged. The room charge was increased from $125 to $135 and the board costs from S2OO to $215 for combined total of $350 a semester or S7OO for a year. Tuition remains

The movie is made for boys and girls nine years and older. At the same hour younger children will hear tales involving an interesting article in the museum told by Mrs. James E. Dowling. Both programs are free and all youngsters are invited. The museum rock and mineral dub will meet at 10 o'dock that morning. All who are interested in this hobby are invited to join with the group for discussion and trade. The Lincoln exhibit of documents, coins, pictures, prints, books and art objects may still be seen at the Children’s Museum. It will remain on display throughout the month of February.
