They were again distributed in the evening following the 8 o’clock Mass. The Church recognizing the needs of its people in changing some of its own set-up rules, or rather than changing the returning to some of its orders of years ago, is offering the opportunity to the faithful again this year of an evening WednesContinued on Page 6)

JOB'S DAUGHTERS Guess What? Bethel 38 now has a new dad, and ten more new daughters! It seems Georgia’s term is starting off with a boom; only two initiations and twenty new members! Mr. Dragoo got right into the swing of things with the Chili Supper only two days after he was installed as Associate Guardian. Don’t worry Mr. Dragoo, we won’t be that rough on you all the time! A couple of tlie coming events on our calendar are 1. The DeMolay Sweetheart Dance. (Remember Georgia is our candidate for Sweetheart, so let’s back her all the way! The east would look awfully bare without that Attendance Trophy, so let’s keep it where it belongs, here at 38!). 2. The second thing on the agenda is our skating party, which incidently has been changed to a swimming party at the L U. Medical Center. No definate date has been set yet, but you will be informed as soon as the news leaks out! Remember girls, for our February 22nd meeting we are going to have to struggle out of bed and be at the Temple for a morning meeting, 10:00 to be exact This will be a stated meeting, but that doesn’t mean that the officers shouldn’t take another look at those rituals!

Speedway—A Spot On The Map Nancy Lewis January 20, 1958 English VH Situated on the west edge of Indianapolis is the prosperous Town of Speedway. Founded in 1926 by L. H. Trotter, the town has an ever-increasing population of 8,449 persons. The inhabitants of this town are ambitious, highcaliber individuals with a desire to better themselves, their families, and their community. They maintain above-average living standards, above-average moral standards, and above average intellectual standards. The overall income of the families is sufficient to afford them the luxuries which are not essential to everyday living. The life blood of the community is the factories. Speedway exists mainly because Allison exists and because Linde Company exists and because Electric Steel Castings exists. Yet, contrary to many industrial towns, the residents of Speedway take pride in their homes.
When the 4:30 factory whistle blows, men and women hurry home to their families, putting the cares of their work day out of their minds. They divert their tired minds and bodies through do-it-yourself improvements in their homes, through relaxation at the Westwood Recreation Club, and through companionship with their families. On Sundays they find spiritual guidance in the church of their choice, for Speedway harbors nine churches and nine denominations. On Thursday evenings all Speedway residents receive a copy of the Speedway Flyer from which they increase their knowledge of current community news. On Friday evenings the parents of many Speedway students gather in the (Continued on Page 8)
