I have already told you in some of my other talks what to feed the baby. At the same time you learn some of the things you should not feed it. I have already told you not to feed the baby anything but milk from your own breast, if it Is possible for you to feed him that way. I told you how to look out for bad milk when you have to feed your baby from a bottle. There are a great many rules for feeding a baby, particularly for the mother who has to feed her baby from a bottle. Remember what I told you first of all about taking advice from your neighbor. Always ko to a doctor or nurse; find out juit what you should feed your baby. Don't forpet how to pet t;ood clean milk and how to take care of it so it will stay so. Keep the bottle, nipples and everything that baby's milk touches, perfectly clean by frequent boilimr and leaving them standing in salt water or borax water when not in use as I explained In one. of my other talks. If you must use a bottle" for your baby, dont' give him plain cow's milk. Cow's milk Is much too strong for a baby's tender stomach. Cow's milk must always be modified or mixed with water and other things the doctor will tell you about. Don't try to modify the milk y curself until a doctor or nurse has shown you how.

You mijrht do.it wrong and do your j baby a great deal of harm.

If baby leaves a little milk in the bottle when he gets through feeding, never save it for the next feeding. Never feed baby old milk or milk

that has stood after a part of it has been used. It is very likely to make him sick, because the tiny bacteria I have told you about have had a chance to browin it. It is better to waste a little than to run tha risk of wasting your baby. Don't feed the baby cold milk, remember the milk nature intended him to take should be as warm as your own blood. If his little stomach ha.s to warm up the milk he is pretty sure to be harmed by it. But never stick your flntrer in baby's milk to see if It is warm enough. Your 'fincer may look perfectly clean, but those little bacteria are too small to see without a magnifying glass. There may be thousands of bacteria on your finger that looks perfectly clean. If you put them in baby's milk they will grow there very quickly and turn it to poison. And worst of all don't put the nipple Into your own mouth to see how warm the milk is. You can't tell what bacteria might be hiding in your mouth. You are grown up, strong and well. There may not be enough of them to do you any harm. Yet there may be enough of them to do your baby much harm and kill him, especially when thev have a chance to grow in his milk. Besides, you may be coming down with some disease that hasn't shown itself to you yet. Many a little one has taken consumption, diphtheria or some other disease In this way from some careless nurse or mother, who insisted on putting baby's nipple in her mouth.

Teach Your Child How to Be Healthy

Regular Bowel Movement IVom Infancy Ini-uro Komi Health in Iater Years, We cannot all start life with the advantages of money, but every child born is entitled to the heritage of goc d health. Through unfortunate ignorance or carelessness in the feeding of a baby its tiny stomach may become deranged. Tho disorder spreads to the bowls and before the mother realizes it the two chief organs cn which the infant's comfort and health depend are causing it great suffering. If the condition is allowed to continue grave ailments often result. There is, however, no occasion for alarm, and the sensible thing to dobut it should be done instantly Is to give the baby u small dose of a mild laxative-tonic. In the opinion of a great many people, among them such well-known persons as the parents of Bertha Lee Woodard, 3 years old, of Moultrie. Ga,, the proper remedy is Dr. Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin. Mrs. I. X. Woodard 5ay8 that little Bertha was troubled with constipation for over a year, and that after trying several different kinds of remedies she found her relief in yrup Pepsin. It is a mild, pleasant-tasting laxative, which every person likes, does not gripe nor cramp, and contains that most excellent of all digestants, pepsin. Dr. Caidwell's Syrup Pepsin is especially intended for infants, children, women, old people and all others to whom harsh cathartics, salt waters, pills, etc., are distressing. In fact.
