A young . alme and residence I ehall suppress for fear f harrowing the feelings of a lond mother and .i.teie. to whom ignorance i bliss, came , into tbia county as a colporteur;" he Lad a valuable tcck of books, maps, Ac, consisting mainly ol Bibles and religious woiks, die standards of the Chiistian world, histories. (I'reecott's and others.) scLool books and Atlases, and unfortunately for him, a few copies of the "Impending CiUis," and some tracts favoring the caure of freedom. These were accidentally 6een by some intense I'ro-Slaverjite. who rait-ed the hue and cry against the "d d Yankee Abolition book peddler." A mob soon had him in tbt-ir clutches, and he was at once unmercifully flogged, and robbed of his wagon and iia contents. Here, perhaps, the flair would have ended, but just at this juncture a negro man was brought upon the ground, jurjortirg to have been caught tunning away from his master, with a forged free pass mi his pocket, ile (the negro) was forthwith lashed to a tree, and alter a moot baibaroue beating he was told to say who had given him the pass. The half dead and terrified negro, glad of a chance to save himself, and well knowing who bis captors wished him to accuse, pointed out the colporteur; adding also, in answer to artlul questions, that he had received a knife from the peddler, with the advice to take it and cut his way to freedom, atd to burn his master's houso over his head in revenge for tbe barbarous treatment he bad received. Now of all il.is there was no proof but the word of the negro, who would have told anything to procure his own release; and yet it waa enough for the infuriated nu b, now numbering about 150 owners of slaves, their overseers and eons. After a short consultation the poor man was delivered into the hands of six of the moKl furious of the crowd. Thef rolled the wagon under a tree, covered it over with dry faggots, and over the whole of it poured a barrel of tar; having stripped their victim and immersed him in the tame, they passed a rope around his neck aod over a limb. Then raising him so that his toes barely touched the top of the cnnbuslible pile tbe negro was made to apply the flaming torch, and thus the feartul tragedy closed in the flames of the hellishly concocted funeral pile, and the shrieks of the agonized victim. In justice to outraged humanity, I must say that this was witnessed by those who would have had it otherwise, but too few to avail aught against the inluriated mass. The revelations of Mordecai Bi an, an Ohio Democratic editor, before Covode's Committee, inplicate our bogas Senator, Fitch. He save that Fitch trave him to un derstand that S 5.0 O of Wendell's printing fund was in his ( F,s) hands, to be paid over at aoy moment on the completion of the negotiations for Mr Ueau s iLtiuence on behalf of the Lecompton fraud. Fitch was Chairman of the Committee on Printing. This evidence puts Fitch very clearly in the position of a corrupt bargainer in votes or of a corrupt go between whom other parties used. It is nearly as pleasant a record for the fraudulent enakxr as the Pomerey letter. KT The editor o the Vanwert ( O. ) Bulletin says he has been connected with the newspaper publication for more than thirty year; that during that time he has credited over 15.000 persons lost by ncn paying subscribers, advertisers, and iobbers. rising ten thousand dollars, the major half or mat running up oeyond seventeen years, bringing the interest equal to the principal, thowing a loss of over S50.C00. This is an item ol experience in m-wspuper publication. More than half of that sum was withheld from 1 iin by the rich and the very rich. AW"" The people of Council Bluffs. F.b. la. 10 Fever and Ague, from which mankind suffer over a larije part of file $e, is the ciiseni?nce of a diseased action in the srstera, induced by the poisonous miasm of vegetable d"war. This exhalation is evolved by the action of solar heat'on wet soil, and rises with the watery vapor from it. 'While the sun is below the horizon this vapor lingers near the earth's surface, and the vims is taken with it through the lungs into the blood. There it acta a an irritating poison on the internal viscera and excretinsr organs f ihe bodv. The lier becomes torpid snd faiU to secTete not only this irus, tii also the bile frum the Uu.id. Both the tl tj and the bile accumulate in the circulation, and produce violent constitutional ditordf-r. The upleen, the kidneys, and the stomach sympathize with the liver, and become disordered also, finally, the instinct of our organism, as if in an attempt to expel tuc noxious infusion, concertrates the whole blood of the bodv in the internal excretories to fore them to cast it out. The bliKid leaves the surface, an i rthe to the central oraans with congestive violence. This U the Chi I L. But in thii efTort it fails. Then the Fbveb follow, in which the blood leaves the central cr.-nns and rushes to the surface, as if in another ttjort to expel the irritating poison through that other frrest excretorv the skin. In this also it fails, and the system abandons the attempt exhausted, waiting for the recovery of strength to rejieat the ho less effort another day. Thee arc the tits or paroxysms of Kf vlk anD Aui t. Such constitutional disorder will of course undermine the health if iU not removed. We have Looted to tiud, aud have found, an antidote, Ayer's Ague Cure, which neutralizes this malarious poison in the blood, ai'. l stimulates the liver to expel it from the body. A it should, so it docs cure this aimctina; disorder witl perfect certaiuty. And it does more, or rather does whi.t i of more service to those subject to this infection. If taken in season it expels it from the system as it is absorbed, and Urn keeps tliose wlio use it free from its attacks ; keeps the svstem iu health although exposed to the disease. Consequently it not only cures, but protects from, the preat variety of aft'ectiou which are irduced by this mulipm-int nifluence, such as Remittent J-'evcr, Chill Kever, Dumb, or Masked Ague, Periodical Headache, or Bilious Headache, Bilious fevers, Neuralgia, ltheumatism. Gout. Blindness. Toothache, Earache, Catorrh, Asthma, Palpitations, Painful Affection of the Spleen. Hyuterics, Colic, Paralysis, and Painftv' Affections of the Stomach and Bowels, all of which, when arising from this cause, will be found to assume more or hs the intermittent type. This "Aot'l Cckf." removes the ciu.se of these derangements, aui cures the disease. This it accomplishes by stimulating the excretories to expel the virus from the system ; and these organs by decrees become habited to do this their office of their own accord. Hence arises what we term acclimatation. Time may accomplish the same end, but often life is not lonir enough, or is sacrificed in the attempt, while thia " Aovb Cube " does it at once, and with safety. We have great reason to beiieve this is a surer as well as safer remedy for the whole class of diseases which are caused bv the miasmatic infection, than sn otner wntcn has been discovered ; and it has still another important advantage to the public, which is, that it ia cheap as well as good.
