WASHINGTON J. Gordon Edwards, director of the production of "The Darling of Paris," .' based upon Victor Hugo's story, "The Hunchback of Notre-Dame," under the ; management of William Fox, has given unusually close attention to ever detail of this historic drama. Mr. Edwards is one of those who believe in doing everything well, always showing splendid efficiency. He fully realized . the historic value of this great production, and has left nothing undone to make it as near perfect as it is pos- ; Bible with human endeavor. He has read the story a number of times, and has become thoroughly imbued with every feature of its splendid dramatic value. He has spent, not only hours and days in studying the . unique characters, but he has spent weeks. Those who are his intimate associates at the studios say that he has scarcely slept nights since he began the enterprise. At the Washington today, Friday and Saturday. MURRETTE If you were a young American of : leisure sauntering through Algeria visiting the romantic places you read of in books, and you saw the most

beautiful and fascinating girl your eyes

ever beheld, would you be enthralled?

That is what happened to Gordon .Roberts, the handsome young tourist -in the Morosco-Paramount photoplay "The Road to Love." in which Lenore Ulrich is starred. Roberts was a very sane and normal young American, but Rafter viewing Lenore Ulrich in the " role of Hafsa, the beautiful high-born Algerian, it is evident that any normal, single warm-blooded young , T.American couldn't help but respond to her alluring charms and fascinations. The subsequent happenings in their extremely adventurous love affair form ;a thrilling photoplay that plays the -Murrette theatre today. 'I MURRAY . "The Soul of Broadway." which -opens at the Murray tonight will be the farewell play of the Otis Oliver TPlayers as they close their engagement Saturday night. "The Soul of "Broadway" is the successful New ;York play that was used by Billie Burke ad a starring vehicle for two years. The Oliver players have won many friends during their stay here ;and it is with regret that they cannot stay longer, previous booking by Mr. Oliver forces him to leave Richmond Jnow, however he will be back later in It he spring with a repertoire of the latest plays. The last matinees will 1)0 given Friday and Saturday.

Every mother realizes, after giving her children "California Syrup of Figs," that this is their ideal laxative, because they love its pleasant taste and it thoroughly cleanses the tender little stomach, liver and bowels without -griping. When cross, irritable, feverish or breath is bad, stomach sour, look at the tongue, mother! If coated, give a teaspoonful of this harmless "fruit laxative," and in a few hours a!l the foul, constipated waste, sour bile and undigested food passes out of the bowels, and you have a well, playful child again. When its little system is full of cold, throat sore, has stomach-ache, diarrhoea, indigestion, colic remember, a good "inside cleansing" should always be the first treatment given. Millions of mothers keep "California Syrup of Figs" handy; they know a

teaspoonful today saves a sick child tomorrow. Ask your druggist for a

DO-cent bottle of "California Syrup of Figs," which has directions for babies, children of all ages and grown-ups printed on the bottle. Beware of counterfeits sold here, so don't be fooled. Get the genuine, made by

(By Associated Press) INDIANAPOLIS, March 1. With the Goodrich excise tax bill under debate, in the senate again this morning, interest In all other pending legislation was subordinated. It was expected that the issue would be finally determined in the senate before the general appropriation bill, set as a special order of business for 10 o'clock is taken up. However, it was hinted that developments might result in an attempt to defer until a still later time the final roll call on the passage of the tax bill. Under Senator Robinson's motion made yesterday, the senate is scheduled to take up the appropriation bills today and tomorrow and inasmuch as both are of such length and importance as to require perhaps an entire

day, there was no certainty, before the morning session just what the attitude of the senate would be. Give Up Hope for Pet Bills . Advocates of measures of local interest have about given up hope of securing consideration of their bills in the upper house. There are more than 200 bills posted there for third leading and the calendar is crowded with special orders of business to a point where no one can forecast what the next day's developments will be. The Gemmill amendment to reduce the state tax levy by a total of 4 cents on each $100 of property valuation, was offered, it la said, by friends of the excise tax bill, in the hope of influencing an indorsement of . the principle of the excise bill, which they say,-was conceived, in xatemplation

of a reduction in the general property tax levy. Whether it will have that effect upon the senate remains to be seen. The house is passing measures with great rapidity and there will be very few, if any bills left without action of some kind, either in committee or upon the floor when the hour of adjournment arrives, according to Speaker Eschbach.

DISCUSS SCHOOL WORK

EATON, O., March 1. Discussion of many topics of particular interest in school work featured a meeting held Wednesday in the city hall by members of the several boards of education of Preble county.

PUT ON FEW DROPS AND LIFT OUT CORN

Try this yourself, then pass it along to others. It works! '

digested food; breath foul, tongue coated just take a little Pape's Diapepsin to neutralize acidity and in five minutes you wonder what ham r

the Indigestion and distress.

Millions of

know that it is needless to have dys

pepsia. A little Diapepsin occasionally keeps the stomach sweetened, and they eat their favorite foods without fear. If your stomach doesn't take care of your liberal limit without rebellion; if your food is a damage instead of a help, remember the quickest, surest,1 most harmless antacid Is Pape's Diapepsin which costs only fifty cents for a large case at drug stores. It's truly wonderful it stops food souring and sets things straight, so gently and easily that It is really astonishing. Your stomach will digest your meals if you keep acids neutralized.

Good things should be passed along. It is now said that a few drops of a drug called freezone applied directly upon, a tender, ahing corn relieves

the soreness and soon the entire corn,

root dnd all, can be lifted out without

pain.

For little cost a quarter of an ounce of freezone can be obtained from any drug store, which is claimed to be sufficient to remove every hard or soft

corn or callus from one s feet.

This is a drug recently announced

from Cincinnati. It is gummy but

dries the moment it is applied and

simply shrivels up the corn without

inflaming or even irritating the

healthy tissue or skin. Cut this out and lay it on your wife's dresser. Adv.

Amazing Power p Bon-Opto To Make Weak Eyes Strong Doctor Says It Strengthens Eyesight SO per cent in One Week's Time in Many Instances

USE COOPER'S BLEND COOPER'S GROCERY

A Free Prescription Yon Ca Ht. Filled and Um at Home Victims of eye strain and other eye weaknesses and those who wear glasses, will be glad to know that according to Dr. Lewis there is real hope and help for them. Many whose eyes were failing say thoy have had their eyes restored by this remarkable prescription and many who once wore glasses say they have thrown them away. One man says, after using it : "I was almost blind. Could not see to read at all. Now I can read everything without my glasses, and my eyes do not hurt any more. At night they would pain dreadfully. Now they feel fine all the time. It was like a miracle to me." A lady who used.it says: "The atmosphere seemed hazy with or without classes, but after using this prescription for fifteen days everything seems clear I can read even nine print without glasses." Another who used it says: "I was bothered with eye strain caused by overworked, tired eyes, which induced fierce headaches. I have worn glasses for several years, both for distance and work, and without them I could not read my own name on an envelope or the typewriting on the machine before me. I can do both now and have discarded my long distance glasses altogether. I can count the fluttering leaves on the trees across the street now, which for several years have looked like a dim green blur to me I cannot express my joy at what it has done for me. It is believed that thousands who wear Hfises can now discard them in a reason-i

able time . and multitudes more will be able to strengthen their eyes so as to be pared the trouble and expense of ever getting glasses. Eye troubles of many descriptions may be wonderfully benetfled by the use of this prescription at home. Go to any active drug store and get a bottle of Bon-Opto tablets. Drop one Bon-Opto tablet in a fourth of a glass of water and let it dissolve. With this liquid bathe the eyes two to four times daily. Yon should notice your eyes clear up perceptibly right from the start, and inflammation and redness will quickly disappear. If your eyes bother you even a litue it is your duty to take steps to save them now before it is too late. Many hopelessly blind might here saved their sight if they had cared for their eyes in time. Note? Another prominent Pnrician to wlioin the above article waa submitted. Mid: "Ye, the Bon Opto preneriptJon is truly a wonderful eye remedy. There are no complicated and obstructed flue systems. The draft and combustion are as perfect as in any separate coal or gas range. The oven heats as well when burning coal as it does when burning gas, for there are no cold air flues running through . the oven bottom of the range as is the case with other combination ranges. No standard coal range heats the oven better or more evenly and with the removable goose-neck gas burner, the oven can be heated as uniform as with any gas range made. The completeness of the range is in every detail. It is absolutely reliable, efficient, economical, convenient and sanitary. We issue an Insurance Policy with each Globe, insuring the body of the range against destruction from rust or corrosion for a period of twenty-five years.

The bodies of all GLOBE Ranges are electrically welded instead of riveted. The advantages are obvious. The steel parts are drawn together until they are water, heat and gaslight. There are no unsightly rivets, consequently electric welded bodies are easily kept clean and sanitary. Remember that all parts are electric welded, even the ash pan, and the nickel edges on the warming closet. Electric welding makes a mechanically perfect body. There are no rivets to collect dirt, the stove is more sightly, more sanitary, and easier to keep clean.

SPECIAL GLOBE FEATURES Ingot iron body is insured 25 years against rusting out. Electric welded bodies are smooth, sanitary, and gas tight. Rivets are not used in Globe construction. - All flue3 are asbestos lined with extra Ingot Iron reinforcement. Oven bottom Is solid cast iron. Buckle proof. Accurately fitted doors and registers make the fire easy to control. Draw-out duplex grates for coal or wood. Cast back flue will not rust out. Oven thermometers are fuel savers.
