Marion county finds herself in much the same position as Wayne in that the jails are full of insane patients who cannot be admitted to hospitals for treatment. An Indianapolis dispatch says: County Commissioner John Mendenhall is much worried over the discovery that Marion county has no place to send her insane. Juliet ta asylum, the institution maintained by the county, is full. No more men patients can be accommodated there and there is room for only three additional patients. Supt. Kdenharter, of the Central Indiana Hospital for the Insane, is constantly turning down applications for admittance of Marion county patients because there is not room. The situation has resulted in a constantly increasing accumulation of insane patients at the county jail, where there are few facilities for their care. August J. Bail, who was recently released from jail, after remaining there a year on an insanity charge, says that his experience there was "awful."
