A London telegram of the 14th says an explosion had occurred, the night before, at the Dina* Colliery, in Wales. There were sixty miners in the pit, and it was believed that not one of them could be saved, as the flames prevented any measures of relief being taken. A London telegram of the 15th says a dispatch had just been received from PhiHpopoHa, which states that, on the 11th, an entire railroad train had fallen Into the River Arda, in consequence of tbe breaking of a bridge, and that a Russian General, with several other officers and 200 men, had been drowned. A London telegram of tbe 15th states that several yards ot the shaft of the Dinas Mine, in Wales, bad fallen in since the explosion, and that, ventilation being thus cut off, there was no hope that tbe sixty men entombed could be relieved. President MacMahon has signed a dearee pardoning 1,800 Communists. Bt the late snow-storm, the sheep farmers of Scotland lost over 100,000 head of sheep. The German Government, in consequence of the refusal of the Samoan Government to comply with its demands, has ordered two men-of-war to proceed to Samoan ports and exact compliance by force, if necessary. A collision recently occurred on the Warsaw Railroad, near St. Petersburg, by which twenty jersona were killed and thirty-two injured, twenty-one dangerously. London dispatches of the 16th say that the Russians were still pushing forward great numbers of troops toward the Mery, under the pretense that they are needed to punish the rebellious Turcomans. The British authorities had again notified Russia that any hostile movement on Mery would be opposed by'British troops. Gen. Stewart has telegraphed to the British War Qfflce in. Londun that Information has been received at Caudahar of-the-fiight of Yacoob Khan from Cabal. A toung lady, named Miss Walker, residing at Brecon Mills, Ont., suddenly expired, a few days ago. Her betrothed, Edwin Cousins, hearing of her death, cut his throat, and the young lady’s mother, ou seeing the corpse of her daughter, dropped dead. * Thomas W. Rooker & Co., of Glamorganshire, Wales, failed, on the 17tb, for a large' amount. They were iron-masters, and owe the Bristol and West of England Bank, which lately suspended, over 93,000,000 alone. A Rome (Italy) telegram of the 17t{h says the Vatican was about to establish several new Bishoprics in the United States and institute a new hierarchy. A dispatch from Gen. Stewart at Candahar was published in London, on the 17th. He had caused tne route from Candahar to Cabal to be reconnoitred, and found that, although anarchy largely prevailed, preparations had been made for vigorous defense. It was feared the bank might not weather the storm. On the 19th the Spanish steamer Yrurac Bat, from Baltimore, reached Coriuna, Spain, and brought a report that she had collided with*’ the British ship Lancashire Witch, and that she sank with all on board.
