SAFE RIDERS IIOL D MONTHLY MEETING Thirteen members reported 12,138 miles at roll call when they met at the Franklin Ton to residence. The meeting had been scheduled for Bob Pontes, but illness caus
ed a last minute change. The
minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The
treasurer was absent because
of a death in the family. It was diffkult to keep the attention of the members during the business meeting, reminiscing of the Kentucky trip. With the July mileage count the traveling trophy began with O. L. Milligan. At the end of the year the one with the highest grand total will be the recipient of the year's trophy. Springfield tickets were passed out to those who had requested them. The Fair Board had sent 15 free dance tickets to the club, "these tickets are in appreciation for the excellent behavior of all motorcyclists for the last two years," so said Franklin H. Rust, State Fair manager. A letter was read from Eddie Crawford expressing his regrets for having messed up our plans, but his grandaughter was better. lie hoped we would come again.

FIRE TRAINING SCHOOL SCHEDULED A Fire Training School will be held at the Wolcott Fire Station on the following dates : August 19, 7:00 p. m. August 26, 7:00 p. in. September 2, 7 :00 p. m. The school will be conducted under the direction of, Mr. Jack Osborn, from the State Fire Marshal Department. The school will be held for Wolcott, Remington and Reynolds firemen. Mr. Russell Emond is the new Fire Chief in Wolcott. Assistant Fire Chiefs are Charles Blume and Russell Parks, Loren Foulks is

TEXTBOOKS ON SALE AUGUST 19 - 23 Mr. Dale Sheets, Wolcott Principal, announces that textbooks will be on sale at the Wolcott High School in the cafeteria from Monday, August 19th' through Friday, August 23rd. Book sales will be made in afternoons only from 1:00 p. m. to 4 :00 p.. in. Round Grove school children will also be able to purchase their books at Wolcott. The County Superintendent has announced that the prices for the new literature and grammar books as printed on the book lists are in error. The corrected price list shows the first and second grade reading books one fifth higher. Those for grade seven through twelve are also one-fifth high

TWO WEEKS ACTIVE DUTY TRAINING Army Reserve 1st Lt. Fred W. Primmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred G. Primmer of Wolcott, is scheduled to complete two weeks of annual active duty training at Fort Eustis, Va., which began August 1 1. Lt. Primmer is assigned to the 5031st. U. S. Army Reserve School in Lafayette. The 26 year old lieutenant is a 1954 graduate of Wolcott High School and a 1958 graduate of Purdue University. He and his wife, Jan, live in Wolcott.
BAPTIST MISSIONARY SOCIETY MEETS The Missionary Society of the Wolcott Baptist church met on Thursday, August 8th in the annex. Mrs. lien a Lawson was in charge or devotions. Mrs. Learee Willianson gave the lesson which was an outline of the Baptist Missions work in Southeust Asia, The business meeting was conducted by Mrs. Pat Churchill, the president. Mrs. Sarah 'Marrett was hostess and a social hour was. enjoyed by the members.

"GET ACQUAINTED"' MEETING AT FRANKFORT White County high school graduates planning to enroll as freshmen in September at Indiana University have been invited to a "get acquainted'' meeting sponsored by local alumni on Friday, August 16,' in Frankfort. Parents also have been extended invitations to tha meeting, which will be held at 7:30 p. m. at Dr. .Milton 1del's lake cottage, R. R. ?, Frankfort. In charge of arrangements is Fred K. Agnew, 5 Kent Court, Frankfort. The. meeting is one in a series sponsored throughout the lDoosier state ly the Alumni Association and the Junior (Freshman) Division of the University. Guests will see color slides of orientation activities dating from the day students arrive on campus to the beginning of classes. They also will have an opiortunity to ask questions about worses of study, housing, expenses and
extra-curricular activities.
