Sept 7. 2011 ELKHART —Ward L Buss, 93, of 28323 CR. 16 W, Elkhart, died * fcSßp-m, Wadaraday Sept. 7,2011 at Hubbard Hill Estates Health Gpre, after a brief übiess.j He is sumved by bis daughter Deborah I Buss, Umon, Colo.; sons, Gray L. (Becky) Buss rad Steven R. (Sue) Buss, both of Elkhart; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchil-dren. Visitation was from 2 to 7 p m. Sunday at ThompsonLengacher k Yoder Funeral Home, Wakarusa, where fimeral services were held at lft3o am., Monday. Entombment is in Rice Cemetery. Military graveside services were provided by Nappanee American legion. The Elkhart County Sheriff's Department is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash that occurred on CR. 24 Monday, Sept. 5 at 10:04 am. The crash involved six children riding in a pony cart that was struck by an SUV after the pony cart traveled into the roadway from a driveway located at 10520 CR. 24. The accident resulted in two of the children, Jenna Miller, 10, and Jolisa Miller; 7, being fatally injured. Three other children, Joyce Miller; 9; Jeneva Miller, 10; and Jared Miller, 4, were taken to either the Parkview Hospital in Ft. Wayne or tire Bronson Methodist Hospital. A sixth child, Justin Miller, 5, was treated and released from the scene. Joyce Miller was discharged from Parkview Hospital and as of Sept. 9, Jeneva (at Parkview Hospital) and Jared (at Bronson Hospital but will likely be transferred to Parkview) were both still listed as in serious condition. There have been 20 crashes that involved animal-drawn vehicles in Elkhart County from September 2009 through September 2011. Of the 20 crashes, seven involved injuries and tire remaining 13 were property damage only. The driver of the 1999 Ford Expedition mat hit the horsedrawn cart was 60-year-old Kathy Butterfield of Bristol, Ind. She had been heading east on C.R. 24 east of C.R. 43 before the cart pulled into her path. One taken to hospital and cited An accident that occurred Sept. 7 in Wakarusa resulted in one driver being taken to Goshen General Hospital for neck pain and also being cited for not yielding the right-of-way. Florinda Alas, Elkhart, was driving a 2000 Chevy Cavalier south on C.R. 9 north of C.R. 36 as Gordon Clark, Elkhart, was driving a 1995 Mac truck west on C.R. 36. Alas stopped at the stop sign but then continued on, into the path of Clark, who did not have a stop sign and who was unable to stop before hitting Alas. Alas' vehicle had rear end damage and Clark's had front end damage. Two taken to hospital after wreck A driver and her passenger were taken to the Elkhart General Hospital Sept. 10 after the driver failed to yield the right-of-way. Michele Kampf, 59, was driving a 2003 Chrysler Town and Country north on C.R. 13 at C.R. 50 at approximately 9:40 p.m. She stopped at the stop sign and then proceeded into the path of Kiri Henwood, 43, Syracuse, who was driving east on C.R. 50 in a 1995 Dodge Neon, and who had no stop sign. Kampf's passenger, Geraldine Kozoa 79 complained of pain to the chest and Kampf reported side Kin. All involved the accident had been wearing their seatlts. Kampf was cited for not yielding the right-of-way. Arrests • Scott Shapland, 39, Nappanee, was arrested by the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department Sept. 1 for criminal mischief. • David R. Brandys, 20, Nappanee, was arrested by the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department Sept. 3 for minor consuming an alcoholic beverage. * Daniel J. Manges, 23, Nappanee, was arrested by the Plymouth Police Department for operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol count of .08 percent or more and operating while intoxicated. • Allen E. Freshour, 48, Nappanee was arrested by the Nappanee Police Department nonsupport of a dependent, escape, and contempt.

Tne bride wore an ivory strapless gown with ruffled organza underlay with a jewel-embedded waist and a chapel train. Antique petite covered buttons accented the back and graced the length of the gown. The veil was elbowlength, double-layered with jeweled edging. The bride's nosegay bouquet consisted of ivory and light pink peonies, fresh Calla lilies, ivory spray roses, and Asiatic lilies. The matron of honor was Jessica Mullins of Cincinnati, Ohio, friend of the bride. The bridesmaids were Rachel Briggs of South Bend, niece of the bride; Nicky Oliver of South Bend, friend of the bride; and Sarah Yoho of South Bend, niece of the bride. 1 The bride's attendants were attired in cornflower blue, short, satin dresses. Each dress had one shoulder strap with a bow accent and the ruched waists were accented with capri blue satin sashes. The best man was Ken Hester of Knightdale, N.C., friend of the groom. The groomsmen were Chris Tabush of Washington, D.C., friend of the groom; Ryan Garrett of Greentown, brother of the groom; and Rocky Mullins of Cincinnati, Ohio, friend of the bride. The ushers were Cameron Garrison of Plymouth, friend of the groom; and Kayln Smith of Kokomo, friend of the groom. The ring bearer was Colbe Jones of South Bend, nephew of the bride. The flower girl was Emma Grace of South Bend, daughter of the bride. Approximately 85 people attended the reception held at Plymouth Country Club. The couple will take their wedding trip at a later date. They now reside in South Bend. The bride is the daughter of Dave and Maiy Goller of Mishawaka and the late William J. Yoho. She graduated from Community Baptist and is attending Ivy Tech Community College. She is employed by Help at Home. The groom is the son of Byron Garrett of Deputy and Anna Stewart of Gas Gty. He graduated from Lebanon High School and University of North Carolina. He is taking classes from Ashford University. He served six years in the military. He is employed by Help at Home and Penn High School.
