Crystal and Clint Dennie of Bourbon announce the birth of a son born Sept. 29, 2007 at 1:19 p.m. at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth. Maddox Wayne Dennie weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Tracy and Julie Weldy of Bremen. Paternal grandparents are Mike and Donna Dennie of Bourbon and Shaun and Brenda Bruner of Mentone.
Keb Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Keb of Nappanee announce the birth of a son born Oct. 2, 2007 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Aaron Thomas Keb weighed 5 pounds, 2 ounces and was 17 1/4 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Charlene and Dino Fraschetti of Nappanee. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. Keb of LaPaz.
Nov. 27 workshop to explain available 4-H scholarships There will be a workshop Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. at the Elkhart County Community Center in the Martin room at the 4-H fairgrounds in Goshen. The workshop wiil explain scholarship opportunities in the Elkhart County 4-H program and offer tips on how to write a successful application. The majority of scholarships require 4-H'ers to be high school seniors. Accomplishment scholarships are available from 10th grade to one full year after the end of 4-H eligibility. Application packets with specific criteria for individual scholarships are available at the Elkhart and Goshen Purdue Extension offices, the workshop and www.ces.purdue.edu/ elkhart. Most applications are due by Jan. 15. An additional workshop will take place Thursday, Jan. 10 to look over draft applications and offer individual tips for improvement before submission. Nicole Seghetti and Eric Knight were married June 9, 2007 at the Northern California Coast in Elk, Calif. A string quartet provided the music. The bride wore an Amsala dress with a satin sash and deep V in both the front and back. She carried a calla lily bouquet with a small framed photo of Nicole's grandparents on their wedding day. The maid of honor was Courtney Seghetti of Indianapolis, sister of the bride. She wore an Amsala chocolate strapless gown. The best man was Charles Knight of Williamsport, Pa., father of the groom. Approximately 25 people attended the reception at Harbor House Inn, Elk, Calif. The bride's mother is Lynn Seghetti of North Judson. The bride graduated from North Judson-San Pierre High School and earned a degree from Purdue University in chemical engineering and her MBA from the University of the Pacific. She is employed with Edward Jones. The groom's parents are Kathi and Charles Knight. He is a graduate of Williamsport High School and the University of Rochester with a degree in packaging engineering. He earned his MBA from California State. He is employed with Gallo Winerv. Following a wedding trip took to Mexico, they now reside in Modesto, Calif.

MIRACLES ON MAIN AND MARKET The Nappanee Christmas Events Committee will host Miracles on Main and Market Friday evening, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. with a parade down Main Street ending at the depot plaza. Santa Claus will meet with children at ‘.he depot plaza following the parade. The Nappanee Garden Club will sell Christmas luminaries and there will be a variety of festive activities for the community. SANTA CLAUS Santa Claus will be at the Nappanee Center every Saturday from 11:30 a m. to 1 p.m. and until 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. FESTIVAL OF TREES Heritage House Assisted Living, 1700 Waterfall Dr., Nappanee, will host a Winter Wonderland Festival of Trees. The trees will be on displav Friday, Nov. 23 and Sunday, Nov. 25 from 2 to 4 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27 and Thursday, Nov. 29 from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 1 from 2 to 4 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday, Dec. 4 and 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. The public is invited. There will be an admission fee, with all proceeds going to the Elder Haus senior center.

The best man was Jason Nunemaker of Nappanee, friend of the groom. Approximately 25 people attended the reception at Villa Roncovisi, Monsummano Alta, Italy. The bride's mother is Lynn Seghetti of North Judson. The bride graduated from North Judson-San Pierre High School and earned degrees from Clemson and Purdue Universities in biology and psychology. She owns and operates Tuscan Mosaics Tile Art. The groom is the son of Alan and Tressie Slabaugh of Nappanee. He graduated from North Central High School. He is employed with Treo Realty and Nathan Alan Kitchen & Bath Design. Following a Tuscan honeymoon, they now reside in Indianapolis.
Wakarusa to host decorating contest The Wakarusa chamber of commerce and the town o Wakarusa are sponsoring a Christmas decorating contest for th» residential areas in town. This contest is in conjunction with the annual Wakarusa Christmas Winter Wonderland and Christma Around the Tree celebration. t Homes will be judged individually, but neighborhoods an encouraged to work together. Homes should be registered witl the chamber office, 862-4344 or at the town hall. The deadlini is Dec. 3. Judging will take place during the first full week ir December. Winning residences will be announced at Christma: Around the Tree Dec. 10. Winners will receive chamber certifi cates that are redeemable at any Wakarusa business. Everyone is encouraged to decorate.
