Saturday, November 16--Grapevine Wreath Class. Try your hand at making grapevine wreaths for decorating your home this fall. The group will meet in the Ox Bow Haus Shelter at Ox Bow County Park, at 2p.m. All materials will be provided free of charge, but preregistration is required. Participants should bring pruning shears and a pair of work gloves. To register, please call the parks department office, 534-3541, extension 305, by Thursday, November 14, 4p.m. Take home a natural wreath, and the knowledge to make them. Saturday, November 23-Night Animals Campfire. Come join a park naturalist for an evening filled with entertainment and adventure, as the group takes to the trails to explore the world of the nocturnal animals. During the program, the group will attempt to call in foxes and coyotes for all to see. After the hike, settle down around the campfire for warm drinks and familiar folk songs. The program will begin at 6p.m., at die campfire pit, at Ox Bow County Park.

A yield of 130.5 bu., number two com per acre from Crow’s 498, a mid season hybrid with a relative maturity of 115 days, has been reported to Crow’s Hybrid Com Company, Milford, Illinois, by George Buss, Jr., Nappanee. Buss said the yield was his best from a demonstration field in which he had planted eight different

Buss, who planted the crop on May 23, said he harvested the field on October 9, from a final stand of 24,000 plants per acre, adding that the harvest moisture was 20.5 percent.
