He-Wi-Gi Camp Fire Group Makes Candy at G. Rose Home ■ y This week’s meeting of the He-Wi-Gi Canip Fire group was held in the home of their sponsor, Mrs. George Rose. The activity centered in the kitchen where eleven girls were busy making candy. They made apricot balls, fudge and Rice Krispie candy. Mrs. Maynard Johnston assisted. In the evening the girls entertained their mothers. They sang “This Old Man” and the “Erie Canal,” and played games. The highlight of the party was when they served the candy they had made in the afternoon. The mothers jo in e and the girls in a friendship circle and sang the Camp Fire Law Song to close the evening. Charlotte Eastetday and her ivirs. L. M. Easterday were guests. Charlotte is anew member of the E-Ce-Tu group. Friday the He-Wi-Gi group visited the telephone office. Suzanne Berger planned the meeting. Mrs. Maynard Johnstoff accompanied them. CAMP FIRE CABINET The newly appointed Camp Fire Cabinet met Saturday in the home of Mrs. George Rose, program chairman, to help plan the 1961-62 Council-wide activities. This committee is made up of a representative from each Camp Fire group Those representing their groups were, Karen Johnston, Marla Mullett, Karen Strauss, Gloria Wise, Kathy Crane, Glenda Sutheimer, Judy Browne, Linda Fairchild, Terry Robinson, Judy Stoops and Linda Muntz.

Last Wednesday evening suppe guests of Mrs. Carrie Champlin at the home of Miss Mabel Sloat were Mr. and Mrs. Garth Haines of Syracuse. Mrs. Champlin has been visiting her sister, Miss Sloat, and will leave Monday to resume her summer duties in the office of Indiana Conference North of the EUB church at Oakwood, Wawasee Lake. There had been several reports this past week that Mrs. Cora Stuckman had broken a leg and that she was in the hospital. Mrs. Stuckman reports that this is not true. She will enter Elkhart General Hospital this Saturday, April 1 to undergo surgery Tuesday morning. It seems that she did fall in her kitchen a few days ago hurting her side but this has nothing to do with her surgery next week. About the only nice thing we can say for tornadoes is that they never strike in the dark.
