EMERGECY SURGERY Mrs. Eddie Pletcher, who was taken to Elkhart hospital Friday for emergency surgery, came home Sunday. Her condition is satisfactory. Cletus Hossler had surgery to amputate a toe Monday. ,He returned home Friday from Elkhart hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ehret of San Juan, Puerto Rico, are parents of a son, Samuel, born March 29. The Ehrets, former residents, have many friends here. Mrs. Mate Lethermian, who has been ill for several months, was taken Friday to Riley convalescent home, Goshen. John Par Cell, formerly of Wakarusa, who makes his 'home with his daughter, Mrs. Charles Slabaugh, had a stroke Thursday night. Jacob Cripe, 63, R 3, Goshen, died Friday, April 13 at his home four miles southeast of Wakarusa. He was horn June 18, 1892, in Carroll county, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Cripe. His marriage to Laura E. Miller took place Sept. 26, 15)14. Surviving are his wife, two sons Floyd, Wakarusa and Delbert, Elkhart, two daughters, Mrs. Delbert Crist, Wakarusa and Mrs. James Royer, Delphi, 18 grandchildren, 3 brothers, Ezra, Modesto, Calif, Samuel of Flora and Daniel of Camden; and' two sisters, Mrs. Edward Royer, Goshen; and Mrs. Noah Skiles, Rossville. Funeral services and burial were Monday at Yellow Creek church. LYNN (TURNER DIES Lynn J. Turner, 69, of Wakarusa, died April 10 at Elkhart hospital of a heart ailment. He retired nine years ago as a Rock Island railroad official. He was born Feb. 14, 1887 at Lapeer, Mich and married Bessie Neely at Goshen, March 23, 1907. Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Handrock, Bristol, a son, Eugene, Kansas City; brother, Howard, Centreville, Mich; and grandson, Thomas, Kansas City, Mo. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Plank of Topeka were guests of Mr. and Mrs .Nelson Weldy Sunday afternoon. .They both attended the A Cappella chorus of Goshen college at Holdeman Mennonite church in the evening. Dwight Weldy was the director. Abner Brown , a farmer, IV2 miles northwest of Wakarusa, was injured Wednesday morning last week by a vehement bull as h e was doing his Chores. He had led the animal outside the barn to water. As he was re-chaining the bull in his stall, the animal backed up, then plunged forward, knocking Mr. Brown against the manger. Mr. Brown was treated by a physician for a broken collarbone, three broken ribs and bruises. Ralph Musser, northwest of Wakarusa, was awarded a flight
