Gerry, Sandy and Pat To Exhibit At State Fair Gerry Spicher won a blue rihbon at the 4-iH fair and a star for his cork-lined tray and six coasters which will be exhibited at the State Fair. Gerry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Spicher, couldn’t go to the Goshen fair and won’t be able to see his handiwork exhibited at the State fair either, for he is ill with rheumatic fever. When he is out of bed, he must remain ,in a wheel chair. Pat Lutes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Loren Lutes, is one of three girls from Elkhart county selected to attend the State 'Fair Girls school in Indianapolis, on the record of her 4-H achievement. She is entered in both the clothing and craft divisions at the Fair with a hat, scarf, handbag, and a towel with Swedish woven border. Sandy Warren will exhibit a head scarf. Mrs. Francis Wagner, Mrs. Vernon Sharkey, Mrs. Spicher and Mrs. Lutes took 24 Clover 4-H club girls on an achievement trip last; Friday. In Elkhart, they visited Miles Laboratories and Smolers ] dress factory. After lunch in Pottawatami park. South Bend, they visited Notre Dame, the airport,] and a dairy, ice cream plant and bakery. They had dinner in South Bend. j Donnie Sechrist was second in the tractor driving contest, and Howard Pletcher was sth. Danny Bridenstine was Ist for the junior trophy. Sponsor Honored at Reunion of Class of 1917 Mr. and Mrs. Howard Rosenberg E. Jackson, Elkhart, were hosts to the 1917 Nappanee high school class at the 3b’th anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Welty and the Rosenbergs made arrangement for a ham and baked bean supper. Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Manwaring, Mentone, were guests of honor. He was the class sponsor and taught math here from 1913-16.
