A short Father’s Day program was followed by election Os officers for S. S. and church. Building committee gave their final suggestions for the new addition, of class rooms, social room furnace room, kitchen, and indoor toilets, to the church, to be started this summer; cost approximately $15,000. Jerry Slabaugh, Amish preacher, spoke at Youth Fellowship, Sunday on the Amish faith. He gave a wonderful testimony to his faith in God, and stressed strongly the need for the “new birth” among all peopleRev. and Mrs. Stanley Roederer were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Haney, Joe and Louise. Men’s Brotherhood met Monday evening at Hasting school house. Present were Henry and* Kendall Biller, Verl and Forest George, Kenneth Haney, Elmer Krou, Robert Rumfelt and Rev. Roederer. Devotions were given by Kenneth Haney. Charles Decker, of Claypool, presented slides of the Flower Festival in Scotland. The belfry and spire on the church, the project of the brotherhood, was dedicated Sunday morning. WSWS met Friday evening at the home of Mrs. Enos Hollar. Devotions were given by Mrs. Forest George. Lesson on the people of Mexico was given by Mrs. Henry Biller, Mrs. Oscar Haney and Mrs. Enos Hollar. Mrs. Haney reported on the con-j vention at Oakwood Park. Robert Heckaman who had major surgery at McDonald hos-! pital Tuesday, is reported doing satisfactorily. | Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hollar have been confined to their bed the past week with the mumps. They are very fortunate to have their mothers, Mrs. Enos Hollar and Mrs. Henry Biller staying with them. Men of the community have been cultivating their corn. I Wednesday afternoon those as-j sisting were Kendall and Henry! Biller, Glenn Baker, Monroe Hoch-1 stetier, Harvey Hollar, Richard j Mikel and Adlai Miller. Thursday morning those who helped were Kendall and Henry Biller, Glenn Baker, Monroe Hochstetler, Keith Hollar, Royce Biller, Ralph Biller, Richard Hollar and Forest George. Mrs. Robert Rumfelt and Terry and Ginger Hollar have been assisting with other chores and strawberries. Callers to visit were Samuel Biller, Alex Hollar, Mrs. Theodore Dinkledine and Anna Jo, Mr. and Mrs. John Kauffman and Mr and Mrs. Paul Kegebein. A number of others visited thru an open window. Oster family reunion was Sunday at Nappanee park with 58! present. Paul Kegebein conduct-] gd the meeting and program. Mrs.! Robert Rumfelt was the sec. Mrs.! Mary Oster, 85, was the oldest! present. Six births and no deaths ] were reported. It was voted to j retain the same officers next year: and have the reunion the same j time and place. Rev. Albert Troup gave a short meditation on reunions. Ice cream was served. Mrs. Stella Friend and son, Billy, spent Saturday night at the Robert Rumfelt home. Mrs. Mary Oster and Orton Oster spent Saturday night and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. David Price and called Saturday afternoon on Mr- and Mrs. Joe Sours. Jerry Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. John DeMoss has the mumps. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rumfelt and sons were entertained Friday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Beer and sons Milford. Connie Biller, 6 and Kent Biller, 3, celebrated their birthdays Monday and Wednesday. Thursday dinner guests with them were Barbara and Ruth Ann Fox and Marla Hollar. MALATHION SPRAT IS BETTER FLY CONTROL Houseflies change with the times.
