Mrs. Kenneth Weldy, who has been a patient in the St. Joseph hospital at Mishawaka for several days was returned to her home Saturday. Elias Sarber attended the commencement exercises which were held at the Bourbon High school Wednesday evening. His brother, Dale was a member of the graduating class. BROTHER OF MRS. OLIVER BICKEL DIES AT HOME IN BENTON William A. Hershey, 72, died at 7:45 o’clock Saturday morning at his home in Benton. He had been bedfast four weeks. Death was due to complications. Mr. Hershey, who spent most of his life in Goshen and Benton, was born in Shelby county, Mo., February 3, 1868, the son of Benjamin and Anna Hershey. His wife, Adda Jane Ott Hershep, died May 13, 1919. Surviving are five sisters, Mrs. Levi Neff, of New Paris, Mrs. Jacob Pletcher, of Wakarusa, Mrs. Hattie Whitehead, of Redwood City, Calif., Mrs. Oliver Bickel, of Nappanee and Mrs. Luther Tarkington, of South Bend, and a brother, Bert Hershey, of Burbank, Calif. Funeral services were held at 2:30 o’clock Tuesday afternoon from the Solomon Creek United Brethren church. Burial was in the Church cemetery.

POLICE SEARCH FOR TWO MEN SAID TO HAVE ENDANGERED CARS Warsaw, May 9—Warsaw night Solice officers patrolled U. S. lghwuy 30 west of Warsaw for more than an hour from midnight Friday to one o’clock Saturday morning in an attempt to apprehend two vandals who nearly wrecked an automobile. An Illinois motorist rushed into town and reported to Night Officer Harve Mathews that two men near the Orion river bridge had thrown a large plank in front of his car nearly wrecking it. The men then threw another plank at the car but failed to hit their mark. The driver sped into Warsaw and reported' the incident. After investigation, officers believed the plank possibly came from a section of wooden guard rail which was found missing near the location of the Incident. Robbery or theft of an automobile wbb thought the motive for the strange action. ETNA GREEN BOY DIES AT HOME OF HIS PARENTS ON MONDAY MORNING Robert Wayne Jontz, 14-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Jontz, Etnu Green, expired Monday morning, at his parents' home after a four months’ illness. Death was caused by a brain tumor. The deceased was born April 19, 1926, and is survived by his parents,, and a brother, Philip. He was a pupil.in the Etna Green school. Funerul services were held at the Christian church, Etna Green, Wednesday, Rev. Ralph Bowne and Rev. Jaycox conducting the services. Burial was in Etna Green. MILFORD MAN HAS FOOT BROKEN WHEN TIE FALLS UPON IT Harry Speicher, of Milford, suffered a broken left foot Monday morning when a road tic fell on him while working with the Winona railroad crew near Winona Lake. He was taken to the McDonald hospital at Warsaw for treatment.
