Baldy Trophy won by Dynamic New ERS^INE AT Pomona, Calif., on Feb. 25, an Hrskine stock sedan, with 1 optional gear ratio, certified by the American Automobile Association, set anew record up Mr. Baldy, making the winding 7.1 mile climb in 10 minutes, seconds. A small down payment is ail that is needed. Your present car, traded in. may make any initial cash outlay unnecessary. Erskmc prizes range from sßgy to $1125 at the factory 4.D00R SrntN

MAN! POLITICIANS i PLACE THEIR NAMES ON PRIMARY BALLOT _ We wonder if many of the candidates for party nominations at the primaries on May 6 really are aspiring to office because of their fitness to perform the duties that would be required of them if successful at the primary and again at the general election to be held this fall or if the choosing of party nominees by the primary method has caused many of those tiling to bo induced to run for offices and in so doing spend a considerable sum of money for nomination when knowingly they have no (bailee at the polls. The idea of a primary is good but in actual practice does not work out. A mixer, whether lie is fit for the office or not--: gets votes that would have elected a "real" man to the same oti'if <■ and therefore the result is to elect a "good fellow?' .regardless of his qualifications. We will say, in all good faith, that we believe headers of both the democratic and republican parties should pe pi mid of the candidates that have tiled for the various offices. Any voter can select a good man from, the I list of candidates in the. field on eith-j er ticket and ir remains for you to choose someone that you will be proud to see in Office after the general election 315 candidates filed their declarations this year With the county clerk against a total of 377 four, years ago. We have several candidates for state and county offices from our own city and an excellent group of men in both Locke and Union township from which to pick our coming officials. A list of the candidates for the various offices on both parties in which local voters are much interested, follows: REPUBLICAN Judge of Superior Court William B. Hile. Elkhart. Prosecuting Attorney (Menn.R. Sawyer, Elkhart. t

Get these extra profits from fence supported on RED TOP ffiSS POSTS GOOD boundary and cross fences plus a liberal use Os movable or temporary fence are not an expense but the best investment you can make. It pays big dividends in the form of wastes stopped—labor saved in harvesting crops—down and shattered grain salvaged—pasturage in stubble fields made available —extra pigs raised and marketed earlier. And it pays extra dividends in the form of losses prevented, such as stock killed on tire highways—valuable animals lost through breaking into and gorging on crops—damage to stock from wire cuts—milk production lost through damage resulting to a good cow breaking through a run down fence. And when these good fences are erected on Red Top steel posts they not only last longer but are an efficient lightning protection to stock —Red Tops ground the flash every rod —save the loss of valuable animals. Come in and let us show you the superior features that make Red Top last longest in the fence line*— make it the best steel post your money can buy.
