Wilson drew his pocket Knire on Rich and the latter when after him . with a billiard cue. The pair raced to the Lincoln hotel, wjiere Rich overtook his fleeing antagonist and struck him on the back with the cue. Heineman gave a dance at his hall Saturday evening. Miss Gertrude Busack entertained Chicago relatives over Sunday. Miss Lizzie De Huis. the only child of Mr. and Mrs. A. De Huls of Lansing, 111., was married Saturday evening, Nov. 4 to Frederick Koester of Thornton, 111., at the Dutch Reform church, Lansing, by the Rev. D. De Bey. The wedding party arrived at the church ln hacks. The wedding was one of the prettiest weddtngs ever held In Lansing ceremony being used. Miss Tanis of Munster presided at the organ and the wedding party was ushered Into the church to the inspiring strain of the Mendelssohn wedding march. The ring bearer, little Miss Ellis, headed-the wedding party, followed by the bride's maid, Miss Martha Koester, cousin of the groom, followed by the bride and her maid of honor, her cousin. Miss Mary K. Kreek of Chicago. The bast man was George Koester, a cousin of of the groom. Harry Jansen was the other attendant. The handsome bride was dressed in white silk with pearl trimmings, her tulle veil was trimmed with lilies-of-the-valley. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses, with white ribbon streamers. The home was decorated with white and pink roses and a beautiful wedding cake was the centerpiece of the dining table. The guests were from Chicago, Homewood. Thornton, Munster and Lansing, and the bride received many beautiful gifts. Her main silverware was given by her parents. The groom is a fine young man, engineer at Thornton, where the young couple will reside. LOWELL. Thomas McGonnigal returned from Chicago last evening, where he went Saturday to attend the funeral of Harry M. Shaw, who died last Wednesday. He was connected with the Chicago fire department for a number of years, but four or five years ago he was injured by the collision of the ladder wagon and a street car, since which time he has been on the, retired list as a pensioner. He was 53 years old and leaves a wife, three sons and , one daughter. John Robinson visited his son Frank and family In Hammond yesterday. Bert Wood of Gary spent a few hours at the home of his parents in this place yesterday. Yesterday was the closest mouthed election ever held in Iowell. The funeral of Jacob Caplan, the Gary business men who died suddenly yesterday morning, was held this morning from his late residence, 632 Broadway.
