What Is A Good Dentist? The Good Dentist: ★ Is concerned — and gentle. Above all, we want patients to be happy about themselves as human beings. Patients are important people and, therefore, receive only dentistry which is consistent with that self-image. ★ Understands the golden rule. In the dental chair sits a creature very much like ourselves — a human being who has needs very much like our own and who will respond positively to care, concern and understanding. We are very much patient oriented. ★ Understands the value af two-way communication. The team members listen — and care; care enough to make sure that to the best of their ability, they have told the story of modern dentistry as it relates to each patient. Mutual trust develops only with effective "give" and "take" communication.

★ Understands fear. If the truth were known, 95% of all patients are fearful — it is not a unique reaction. When concern, kindness and gentleness cannot placate this sometimes cantankerous emotion — there are still other ways. Remember, fear is normal — and anticipated — and even healthy. With understanding, it can be controlled. * Appreciates the patient's concern for time. We will do everything possible to stay on time although emergencies do arise occasionally.
