Aiiss Frances /Mazur, Jewish Leader, Dies
Eleanor Dlott, Alan Cohn To Be B'nai Mitzvah
Services for Miss Frances Mazur, 91, 523 East 36th Street, active in Jewish community affairs, were held Tuesday, June 15 in the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation Temple, with burial in the congregation cemetery. A native of Arlington and an Indianapolis resident 70 years, she died June 12 at home. Miss Mazur had been a teacher and superintendent of the congregation’s Sunday school, and was a co-founder
of the Golden Age Club. She was a member of the Council of Jewish Women and served on its immigration committee, teaching English to immigrants preparing for United States naturalization tests. Miss Mazur was a former member of the board of the Borinstein Home Guild and a member of the Brandeis University Women’s Auxiliary, Hadassah, and the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation Sisterhood.
Mrs. S. F. Aronson, Active In Civic Circles, Succumbs
Mrs. Alma C. Aronson, 71, S670 North Meridian Street, active in Jewish religious and civic circles, died June 12 in the Lilly Clinic of Marion County General Hospital. She was the wife of Dr. Sidney F. Aronson, a retired ear, nose and throat specialist. Mrs. Aronson was a member of the Council of Jewish Women, B’nai B’rith Women, and of the Indianapolis Hebrw Congregation and its Sisterhood. She was a supporter of Brandeis University, Waltham, Mass. She was a native of Peru,
and an Indianapolis resident for 60 years. Services June 13 in Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Meridian Hills Mortuary with entombment in Washington Park North Mausoleum. Survivors, besides the husband, include a daughter, Mrs. Leonard Larman of Indianapolis.

The celebration of the B’nai Mitzvah of Eleanor Nan Dlott and Alan Stephen Cohn, the children of Mr. and Mrs. David Dlott, 425 W. 83rd St., will take place Friday evening, June 25 and Saturday morning, June 26
at Congregation B’nai Torah.
Mrs. Tillie Dlott of Indianapolis is the paternal grandmother, and Mrs. Regina Fliegner of Miami Beach is the
maternal grandmother.
Hostesses for the festivities are Mrs. Joe Reisel, Miami Beach, Fla., and Mrs. William
Halpern, Phoenix, Ariz.
Out of town guests include Mr. Morris Hitsch, Mr. and
Mrs. Tillie Shapiro Dies; Rites Held Mrs. Tillie Shapiro died June 14 in Hooverwood Home, where she had lived a year. Services were held June 15 at Aaron - Ruben - Nelson Meridian Hills Mortuary. Mrs. Shapiro was born in Russia. She and her late husband, William, owned and operated Shapiro’s Fish Market at 1010 S. Meridian about 20 years. She was a member of Azras Achaim Congregation and a member of the Golden Age Club. Survivors — daughters Mrs. Kenneth Goldstein, Mrs. Henry Salzman, Mrs. Fran Schwartz, Mrs. Nathan Gotthels, Mrs. Leon Segal; son Julius.
