Citizenship Torch.”
The Jewish Welfare Federation began the organization of a 12 day tour of Israel for Indianapolis residents early in Nov. AN INSTITUTE on Near Eastern Faith and Culture was held by Butler University. Aaron Intrater was selected to instruct
in Modern Hebrew.
The resignation of Aaron Intrater as superintendent of the JEA was announced. Intrater accepted a position in Cleveland. Rabbi and Mrs. Maurice Davis left for a 19 day tour of Israel. JEA HONORED Larry Goldstein and Stephen Sherman, the two top ranking students, at its
graduation exercises.
A campaign to raise the final $40,000 needed to construct the JEA's new building was started. Mrs. Sidney James and Mrs. Charles Efroymson represented
the Indianapolis chapter at the annual conference of Brandeia women’s committee in Waltham,
Mass. July
A benefit performance of Avondale Theater was sponsored by the Indianapolis section of National Council of Jewish Women. Proceeds went to the model secondary school of the Hebrew university in Israel. ALFRED DOBROF, executive director of the Jewish Community center, handed in his resign ation.
