for Zionism and the local Jew ish community. Mr. Juran died Nov. 16 in Methodist Hospital after a short illness. He was chairman of Youth Aliyah, vice-president of the Indianapolis Zionist organization, and a member of the Jewish Community Relations council board, the Je.wish National Fund Council, the Jewish Educational Association, and the Beth-El Zedeck Congregation and men’s club. Born 52 years ago in Poland, Mr. Juran went to Vienna in 1914. He studied law in the General University, and obtained a doctor of law degree, and at the Handles (Business) Academy, both in Vienna. He came to Indianapolis in 1939, to work as an accountant. Home was at 3355 N. Park Ave. Survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Isadore Greenhut, Mis. Jack Adelsman and Mrs. Isadore Muschel, all of Indianapolis. He had three nieces and a nephew. Funeral was from Aaron-Ru-ben Funeral Home. Burial was in Beth-El Cemetery.
Nine CMC Youth To Light Candles Nine members of the Central Hebrew youth group will participate in. candlellghting services at a Hanuka party at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, in the Central Hebrew synagogue. Mrs. Lester Ida (Lee) Linder will conduct the services. Participants will be David Goldstein, Sheila Simkin, Joy Weisfeld, Elaine Bearman, Toby Marmalade, Ronald Kaseff, Abe Millman, Larry Greenwald, and Ralph Avnaim. A social will follow the services. The group is sponsored by the Central men’s club and sisterhood for boys and girls of high school age.

Resident's Mother Succumbs In City Mrs. Hermena Jacobs of Cleveland died unexpectedly on Saturday, Nov. 3, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roland Koplow, of Indianapolis. Survivors include the husband, Harry Jacobs; four other daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Klass, Mrs. Beatrice Copenhigen. Mrs. Roslyn Klein, Mrs. Helen Baskin; three sons, George, Marvin and Irwin Jacobs, and 13 grandchildren. Burial w ; as in Cleveland, with funeral ' arrangements made by Aaron-Ruben Funeral Home of Indianapolis.
