Leaving for six weeks is Margot Levy who with six other Tudor Hall students will study music and theory at Coboconk, Ont. They are accompanied by Thelma Todd, a staff member of Tudor. Ellen Schloss and Ann Lurie are two of the 18 girl scouts who sailed June 13 from Montreal on the Empress of France for a two month tour of Europe. The trip is part of the International Girl Scout program for which the girls must give a specified number of volunteer service hours in their community as well as to earn part of the funds for the trip. The tour is under the adult guidance of Mrs. John Burkhardt and Mrs. Frank Slemmons, leaders of troop number 271. * * * NANCY BASSLER will leave for a two week vacation to Glencoe, 111. Part of her time will be spent attending the Pioneer Day Camp. Mrs. Frieda Valinetz will spend a vacation in Chicago visiting wdth her daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Jack Deer. The Oscar Zafts will leave next week to spend their vacation at Chichester, N.Y. Attending the National Community Relations Advisory Council Plenary sessions held June 17-20 at the Ambassador hotel, Atlantic City, were Mr. and • Mrs. David Cook, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Mezoff, Louis Greenberg, Norman Abrams, Julian Kiser. In Memphis last week for the wedding of Donna Goldstein and | Robert Goodman, were Mr. and Mrs. Philip Adler, Jr.. Mrs. Myrtle: Quint, Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Good-! man and daughter, Sue Ellen, and i son Elliott, and Mr. and Mrs. Sam- j uel Mantel, as well as Mrs. Jack Goodman, the groom’s mother, and Jacqueline, his sister. Mr. and Mrs. Maier Bernat, 3405 Guilford, will leave June 30 for an extended vacation with their son and daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bernat, and granddaughter, of Baltimore Maryland. They will! visit c h i Id r e n , relatives and ' friends, in Chicago, St. Paul, Minn, and Wisconsin.

Dr. and Mrs. Sam Patterson, Cantor Myro Glass, Mrs. Selma Farber, Sigmund Brenner, Barbara Farber, Dean Farber, Mrs. Anna Miller. Dan Rabin, Miss Nora Jane Talesnick and Mrs. Joseph Kay, all of Indianapolis. Visiting in Ft. Wayne and attending the wedding of Bob Greenhut and Debbie Ochstein are Mr. and Mrs. Isidor Muschel and Doris, Mrs. Betty Greenhut. Helen Leventhal. * * * MR. AND MRS. LOUIS Brate man and Ronnie and Sandra of Ft. Wayne are visiting in Indianapolis prior to the marriage July 4 of their daughter and sister, Shirley, to Irv Maurer. Visiting from Houston, Texas, is Zelda Rae Abrams who will attend the wedding of Shirley Brateman. She is visiting Mrs. Dave Goldman, 3354 N. Capitol. Rabbi and Mrs. Arthur Hollander and daughter of Sunland, Cal., are visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Hollander, for three weeks. Dr. and Mrs. Hans Wassing, of Paterson, N. J. will visit with Dr. and Mrs. Irving Rosenbaum July 4 on their way to the west. Mrs. S. Hildersheim, of Phoenix, Ariz., is visiting with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Curt Baker. Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Jacobs, (formerly Carol Goldberg) were visiting from South Bend and attending the dedication of the JCCA site. Mrs. Edwin E. Mayer of Cincinnati has been the recent guest of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jaeger. * * * NAMES IN THE NEWS: Jos eph Bloch, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Bloch, has received excellent press notices from the London Times and London Daily Telegraph following his piano recital there. Bloch is playing a series of recitals in Madrid, Amsterdam, Paris, the French provinces, Zurich, Brussels and Western Germany. Irwin Reisberg, son of Mrs. Louis Reisberg, has won a scholarship presented by Zeta Beta Tau fraternity of which he is a member at IU. Winners in the north-south play of the Riley Duplicate club were Jerome Jacobs and Jerry Epstein, first; taking second place in the east-west play were Mrs. Arch Falender and Mrs. William Epstein. Mrs. Harold Rappaport, a newcomer to Indianapolis, deserves mention for her enthusiastic participation in community service

organizations. An ardent M-Day worker and already co-chairman with Mrs. Louis Levy for Israel Bond Women’s Division. * ♦ * A LUNCHEON AND SHOWER will be held Saturday, June 26, at the Hotel Warren in honor of Miss Shirley Brateman. Hostesses will be Mrs. George Horwitz, Mrs. Jess Cohen, Mrs. Dave Goldman, Mrs. Harry Brateman, aunts of the bride-to-be, as well as Mrs. Rose Lenowitz, grandmother, and Mrs. Herbert Maurer, a future sister-in-law. Mrs. Louis Levy will entertain June 30 with a luncheon and miscellaneous shower at Broadmoor Country Club for 45 friends of Mrs. Mortimer Present in honor of her daughter Judith whose engagement to Edward Cohen of Cincinnati has recently been announced. Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Fogle, 6060 Gladden Drive, were entertained with a surprise dinner-dance party recently by a group of their friends in honor of their twentyfifth wedding anniversary. Among the guests were their children Janet and Mr. and Mrs. Phil Bernstein.
