pecially proud of the appearance of our Indianapolis women, their “well-groomed look.” Our Indianapolis president, Mrs. Sidney dames, in her Mack satin, “last word” outfit, hat and all, was very gracious and good to look at, when she extended the invitation to the State, to convene in Indianapolis in 1949. She has been named State Chairman of one of the most important committees, that of Public Relations. This includes the Inter-faith work. She was chairman of credentials for the convention and opened the convention with prayer, a very
beautiful one!
We haven’t time for more! But believe us, our new State president, Mrs. Charles Spiegel of Anderson, is a wonder for work, for faith in Judaism and our Indiana women, for executive ability, for sincerity, oh—wait until we tell you more next week! And her sisters—three of them! All four sisters came to Indiana from Lincoln, Neb., where they were bom. All married Omaha, Neb., men! And then chose Indiana to live in. But we want to prove that all Jews are related—at least so many women who were in Gary were related to Indianapolis folks. Everyone asked “Do you know Mrs. So and So? She’s my daughter’s mother-in-law” or “My sister lives in Indianapolis” etc., ad infinitum! So wait until next week!

MISS JENNIE TOUREL, who scored such a triumph of musicianship at the Indianapolis Symphony concerts, Dec. 18 and 19, and her personal manager, Miss Frieda Roth, were the house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Goodman during their stay in the city. In April, after a concert tour covering England, France, Denmark, Holland and Switzerland, Miss Tourel will go to “Israel” where she will remain until May 15, first singing in the larger cities of the Holy lAnd and then in the newlyformed colonies. She will be soloist with the Palestine Symphony Orchestra.
