A large participation by national agencies and local communities wdll mark the first annual meeting of the Indiana Jewish Community Relations Council Jan. 10 and 11 at the Lincoln Hotel. Agencies which will participate include the National Community Relations Advisory Council, to be represented by Jules Cohen, New York, and Irving Kane, Cleveland; the American Jewish Committee, represented by Philip Jacobson, New York; the Anti-De-famation League of B’nai B’rith, by Abel E. Borland and William G. Pinsley, both of Chicago, and Sol Rabkin, New York; and the American Jewish Congress, represented by Joseph B. Robison, New York, of the Commission on Law and Social Action. Four major round-table workshops have been ■ranged for the conference, which will open at 8 p. m. Saturday, Jan. 10. A luncheon session at 12:30 p. m. Sunday in the Trave tine Room, will be addressed by Irving Kane of Cleveland on the topic: “Toward Coordinated Jewish Community Relations in America.” Round-Table chairmen will present summarizations on “Building Healthy Community at-
titudes”, “The Role of Law in Building a Healthy Society and a Civilized Community”, and on “Finding, Exposing and Combatting Bigots”. PRESIDING over these Round-Tables will be: Irving A. Hurwich, South Bend, president of the South Bend Jewish Community Council and chairman of the IJCRC Program and Projects Division; David M. Cook, Indianapolis, chairman of the committee on Law, Legislation and Social Action; and Samuel M. Terner, Gary, chairman of the Fact-Finding and Investigative committee. Indianapolis’ newly organized Jewish Community Relations Council will act as host to the conference, jointly sponsored by the 17 participating Indiana communities.
