Jonior Hadassak Plans Complete for Convention Rpeeial SOUTH BEND —Plans were completed Tuesday evening for the midwest regional convention of Junior Hadassah to be held in South Bend this week end. Representatives from Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana will be present. Sylvia Paskin is chairman of arrangements, assisted by Madelon Marcus. Miss Marcus was elected president of the local chapter Tuesday evening, succeeding Irene Halasz. Other new officers are Elsie Minkow, vice-president; Alice Orlein, recording secretary; Florence Zeidman, corresponding secretary; and Zelma Zonnenburg, treasurer.
Sisterhood Elects Officers New officers of the Sinai Sisterhood are Mrs. Jerome Vogel, president; Mrs. Samuel Price, first vice-president; Mrs. Maurice Parzen, second vicepresident; Mrs. Abe Price, financial secretary; Mrs. Jack Goldstein, recording secretary; Mrs. Ella Vogel, treasurer; and Mrs. Ben Farber, corresponding secretary. Young Judean Officers — New officers of Dodim Young Judaea Club are Nettie Orlein, president; Dorothy Keene, vice-president; Lillian Weiss, treasurer; Shirlee Wolvos .secretary; A1 Zuroff, sergeant-at-arms; and Ted Minkow, assistant sergeant-at-arms. The group will hold a box social at 7 p. m. Sunday, June 3 at Rum Village Park, with Gary Aretz as auctioneer. A.Z.A. Bench Party—St. Joseph Valley A. Z. A. will hold a beach party at Lake Michigan Sundry, June 3. Synagogue Notes — The final Round-Table discussion of the year will be held at Temple Beth El tonight, following services conducted by Rabbi Stephen Sherman. Mrs. Nathan Levy will preside. Members and non-mem-bers of the congregation are asked to aid in sewing for the Red Cross at sessions held each Tuesday, beginning June 5, at the Temple . . New members will be welcomed at services at 8:15 p. m. today at Sinai Synagogue. Rabbi and Mrs. Maurice Parzen will entertain the Sinai Youth Club at a picnic at their home Sunday. Rabbi Maurice Gutstein of Chicago will speak at the annual dinner of the Sinai Men’s Club at 7 p. m. Tuesday at the synagogue. !■ the Service—Pfc. Eli Arsonson and Cpl. Ben Hoffman got together for a visit somewhere in France. The boys are friends from South Bend, and hadn’t seen each other for some time . . . Barry S. Rymer, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Rymer, received shrapnel wounds in his wrist during the battle of Okinawa. Hadassah Tea Jane 12—Plans have been made for the closing meeting of Hadassah, a social tea at the home of Mrs. Meyer Rothstein Tuesday, June 12. The Senior Hadassah recently entertained at a party for the Junior Hadassah girls. The study group, directed by Mrs. Eli J. Frances Ofsaiof’s mother and brother, Mrs. Medwell and Cpl. Bernard Bedev, of Mansville, Texas, were guests at the Reuben Ofsaiof home. Cpl. Bernard, a marine, has been in the service five years and has seen action in the South Pacific, where he was wounded. He was hospitalized in Corpus Christi, Tex.
Pvt. Leonard Price, wounded in action in Germany, Feb. 25, and hospitalized in England, has arrived in this country. He is at the Schick Hospital, Clinton, la. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Price.
