Mrs. Simon Heads B'nai Abraham Women Special TERRE HAUTE— The newly elected officers of the Ladies Auxiliary of Temple B’nai Abraham are president, Mrs. Harry Simon; vice president, Mrs. Sam Pollock; secretary, Mrs. Sam Rappaport, and treasurer, Mrs. Nathan Goodman. The Auxiliary is planning a Kitchen Bridge shower February 7. Terr* Haute Zionists Sponsor “Palestine Specks’’ — The Terre Haute Zionist organization will sponsor a group of 18 dramatizations on “Palestine Speaks” beginning at 6:45 P. M. Jan. 5 over WBOW. These programs are dramatized by outstanding stars of stage and screen. Lewis R. „ Sutin is chairman of this program. Notes—Staff Sergeant Jane Bogin of Edgewood Arensal, Md., has been promoted to Second Lieutenant and is now in a 2 weeks orientation course at Billings Hospital, Fort Harrison. She has been spending her weekends with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bogin of Terre Haute. . . . Home from Northwestern for the Holidays ere Beverly Cohen, Polly Silver, Hadassah Tatelman, Letty Schultz and Gail Levin. Barbara Jacobs is home from Vanderbilt College. . . . Miss Mildred Phillips, student at Northwestern, is visiting Miss Connie Rappaport at Rock Island, 111. She will arrive home the first of the week to spend the remainder of the Holidays with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Louis Phillips. . . . Miss Beatrice Grossman left yesterday for New York City where she will visit her roommate at Indiana University. . . . The newly elected directors of the Phoenix Country Club are Max Goodman, A1 Berkowitz and Norman Coplan. . . . Mrs. Sam Pollock received word of the death of her father in California. The body will be brought to Indianapolis for interment. . . . Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Levin are spending a few days in Chicago... Joe Solomon was made chairman of the membership drive for the newly organized Terre Haute Smoke, Abatement League. . . . Irving Krasner and Ben Schwartz have been elected directors of the Terre Haute Grocers’ and Meat Dealers’ Association for 1945. . . . Mr. and Mrs. Ben Becker have sold their large home to Mr. and Mrs. David Rubin and moved this week into their apartment next door. Their daughters, Mrs. Theodore Loeb of Highland Park and Miss Ruth Mae Becker of Northwestern University are home assisting. . . . Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Goodman and Mrs. J. Goodman have returned from Chicago where they attended the wedding of Miss Lucille Rosen to Corporal Sol Sanes. Goldie Jean Goodman, small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. Goodman was a junior bridesmaid and Miss Mollie Goodman, sister of Mr. N. Goodman and a teacher at Gary, Ind., rendered the vocal selections. Corporal Sanes, brother of Mrs. N. Goodman is in the Radio Dept, of the Air Corps at Grand Island, Neb. Miss Mollie Goodman will spend the Christmas holiday at home with her parents Mr. and Mrs. J. Goodman of Terre Haute. . . . Mrs. Pinkus of Chicago is the guest of her son-in-law and daughter Mr. and .Mrs. Henry Adelman. . . . Mrs. Nathan Rubin is visiting her son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Sam Chamson of Shawano, Wis. . . . WE1NGART TO ADDRESS SISTERHOOD'S MEMBERSHIP TEA AT SOUTH BEND
Special SOUTH BEND—Rabbi Irving A. Weingart of Fort Wayne will address members of the Sinai Sisterhood at the annual membership tea Monday, Jan. 8. His subject will be “Pattern of Living.” The affair will be held at 2 p. m. in the vestry. Mrs. Arthur F. Scheer is chairman of the tea and Mrs. Samuel Price is membership chairman. Members of the committee planning the affair are the Mesdames Philip Oestereicher, Julius Tischoff, Max Ein, Abraham Price, I. Ockstein, and M. M. Sutlin.

visit relatives. She was accompanied by her cousin Lee Weiss. Shirley Margaret will return Jan. 2 with Mrs. Sol M. Perelmuter, her aunt, who plans to make her home with the Weisses for the duration.
