Delores Lasser Becomes Bride Oi Morton Koch Special GARY—In a formal wedding Sunday afternoon in Chicago, witnessed by 300 friends and relatives, Delores Edith Lasser, of Gary, became the bride of Morton I. Koch. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Lasser, and the bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Philip Koch, of Chicago. Tne service was performed by Rabbi Israel H. Weisfeld of Oak Park in the Masonic Temple, Chicago. The new Mrs. Koch attended both Gary College and the University of Illinois, and the bridegroom is a graduate of Northwestern University. The young couple plan to reside in Gary in the near future but are now at home in Chicago. The Hadassah-Debs will hold a dance at 8:30 p. m. Sunday evening, Mar. 7, at the home of Frances Sher, 1351 S. Meridian St. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Fairbanks are home after ten days in New York City.

He has been named Samuel. MARION — Mr. and Mrs. J. Katz of Chicago announce the birth of a daughter, born on Jan. 24. Mrs. Katz was the former Miss Birdie Klain of this city.

Miss Selma Cooper, Cpl. Hurwitz To Be Wed At Beth El Next Sunday The wedding of Selma Cooper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Cooper, 3140 College Ave., and Cpl. John Hurwitz, son of Mrs. E. Hurwitz, Sioux City, la., will take place at 2 p m. Sunday, Mar. 14, at Beth El-Zedeck Temple. Rabbi Israel Chodos will officiate assisted by Cantor M. Glass and Rabbis Samuel Fox and S. A. Katz. Relatives and friends are invited to the Temple for the wedding ceremony. No invitations have been issued. Later in the evening there will be a dinner for the immediate families. GARY—'Miss Beatrice AppeL baum became the bride of Nathan M. Levinson, Sunday afternoon, in a ceremony performed by Rabbi Samuel I. Porrath of Chicago, and witnessed by members of the immediate families. The service was held in the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Appelbaum. Mrs. Enna Levinson, mother of the groom, came to the wedding from Pittsfield, Mass. The couple will reside in St.
Louis.
Out of town guests who attended the wedding and dinner which followed in the Hotel Gary were Mrs. G. E. Edith Grossman To Wed Hammond Man; Date Is Not Set Special TERRE HAUTE—Mr. and Mrs. William Grossman announce the engagement of their daughter Edith to Lee Neiman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Neiman of Hammond, Ind. Miss Grossman, a junior student at Indiana State Teachers College, is treasurer of Lambda Delta Phi. She is president of Terre Haute Section, National Council of Jewish Juniors and popular in the younger set here. Mr. Neiman, in his senior year at Indiana State Teachers College, is a Phi Gamma Mu and Kappa Delta Pi honorary fraternities. No definite plans have been made for the wedding.

Mrs. Abram Haupt, Stonehurst Hills, Upper Darby, Penn., who was the guest of Mrs. Irwin Haupt, has returned home. The Irwin Haupts though comparative newcomers are actively interested in Jewsish and non-Jew-ish affairs here. Mr. Haupt is engineer for the Army Signal Corps with headquarters in Indianapolis. GARY — The engagement of Miss Frances Bubman, daughter of Mrs. Max Bubman, to Petty Officer Robert A. Rube, of Mansfield, O., was announced recently at a family dinner in the Bubman home. He is the son of Rabbi and Mrs. David Rube, of Mans-
field.
Officer Rube flew from Norfolk, Va., where he is stationed, to Gary. No date has been set for the wedding. Officer Rube attended Northwestern University and was graduated from Ohio State University at Columbus. Miss Bubman attended Herzl College.
Staff Sgt. and Mrs. Mervin D. Gordon will come tomorrow From Jackson, Fla., to visit with Mrs. Gordon’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo E. Levey. Sgt. Gordon will leave Monday, Mar. 8, for his new assignment at Shelbyville, Tenn. Mrs. Gordon will remain with her parents a few weeks before joining him. Mrs. Ruth Nebron of St. Louis, after a several weeks’ visit with her mother, Mrs. Bailey Brown, and her sisters, Mesdames S. C. Bodiner and Arthur Fairbanks, is returning this week to her home. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Adeff had as their guests last week end their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Abrams, formerly of Chicago and now of La Porte, where Mr. Abrams is a production engineer at the Kingsbury Ordnance Plant.
