and Mrs. Noah Street, wives of recently deceased officials. Decorations by the program chairman, Mrs. Bryant, carried out the emphasis on the “Word” by the use of large open Bibles for centerpieces, each one flanked with candles and the specific page and verse marked with a small gold angel. In addition, Bible texts on gold paper were used and effectively supported the theme. Usher president minister Joe Swanson, gave the welcome address. Mrs. Margaret Bryant, vice-president, gave the reason and purpose of the dinner followed by an invitation to the hospitality room by Mrs. Ruth Hughes. A candlelight prayer at the beginning of the dinner by Elder Owen Young at the request of the host pastor, Elder M.E. Colder, set the spiritual and fellowship tone that spilled over into the hospitality room where after dinner, coffee and dessert were served, culminating a beautiful event and a satisfactory experience for the senior usher board.
