“Discipline in the Home and School” is the topic to be discussed by nationally recognized Miss Lettie Wickliffe during the PTA meeting of School 56 Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 7:30
p.m.
Miss Wickliffe is known nation - wide for her knowledge of and service to exceptional children. She will be using a new media “role - playing” and present her subject in “Theatre in the Round.” Miss Wickliffe has given years of service in the form of time and money to help unfortunate.. as well as exceptional children. Her love for these children is boundless. Her concern is limitless. She is also armed with the “know-how.” All parents of School 56 are urged to be present. Miss Wickliffe can help carefully guide children into adulthood. Mrs. Myrtle A. Jones is PTA president. Benjamin Johnson is principal.
Secret pals were revealed and gifts were exchanged during the You-Sew, I-Sew Club Christmas party at the home of Mrs. Elizabeth Porter, 422 Berkley Rd. Games were played followed by the serving of a delicious turkey dinner. Guests were Mmes. Mable Lewis, Harriett Cheatham, Marie Turner, Elizabeth Smith, Stella Carter, Mable Garnett, Josephine Hatch, Emma Goode and Susie Marsh. Mrs. Ella Cecil is president. Mrs. Hattie Mae Wolford is

JOY GRAFTERS CLUB The Joy Grafters entertained guests at the home of Mrs. Rose Irvin, 3051 Boulevard Place, on New Year’s day. Gifts were exchanged and Secret Pals were revealed. A very tasty buffet, prepared by Mrs. Irvin and family, was served. Mrs. Margaret Clemens of Terre Haute was guest of the president, Mrs. Helen Morgan, who has been released from Methodist Hospital. Mrs. Amelia Scott was hostess at the December meeting. Next meeting and election of officers will be January 22. Mrs. Mildred Wallace, 509 Vermont St., will be the hostess.
