CUNNINGHAMS HOLDING FAMILY REUNION
A family reunion was held recently at the home c|! Mr. and Mrs. John Cunningham, 3542 Lumford Place, Cincinnatti. Participants of the reunion were of the Kidd Hampton deceedants all formerly of West Bend, Powell County, Ky. There were four generations, the oldest beinsr Mrs. John W. Milliken, formerly MafcJtie Kidd, a daughter of the late W. H. (Tobe) and Mattie Kidd of West Bend, Ky., Mrs. Milliken resides in Indianapolis. Others present were: Mr. and Mrs. Harry Phillips, Mr. and Mrs. John Cunningham and children Gloria, Janet and Mark II, Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Larry Sr. and children, all of Cincinatti, Ohio. Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Caston, Mrs. Pearl Stallworth, Mrs. James Hampton and friend from
Chicago, Mr. Ronal Hampton and friend of Indianapolis, Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Hampton and children of Springfield, Mr. and Mrs. John White and son, George Porter of Lexington, Ky., Mr. and Mrs. Noah Turley and children, and Mrs. Darnell Fletcher of West Bend, Ky.; Mr. and Mrs. Leon Hampton and children and friends of Muncie, Indiana, Mr. and Mrs. Nolen and children, Mrs. Victoria Toliver of Winchester, Ky. Tables were spread with an abundance of food which was enjoyed by all present. Most of the relatives and a few guests remained over night and enjoyed the 4th of July holiday together before departing for their various homes to await another year. 61 were present and everyone had a grand and glorious time.

AMONG THE MANY charming models appearing in the show were Mildred Thurman, Kathryn Woodward, Patsy Swatts, Phyllis Vance, Barbara Crown, Peggy Washington and Joe Broyles, along with Miss Norma Cook of Detroit who had her hair stylist, Grace \.\:Millian, along for the performance. Detroit’s other contributions to the fashion show, Erskine Tucker, had his two valets, Eddie Hayworth of Chicago, and James Schaffer of Indianapolis with him as helpers. The Guys and Dolls wish to extend a sincere thanks to everyone who helped to make this presentation the huge suc-
cess it was.
CITIZENS FORUM BOARD MEETS: The Executive Board of the Citizens Forum met July 15 at the home of Chester Little, 1304 Burdsal Parkway for the purpose of assessing the progress reports and efforts of the organization and to bring into clear focus the long and short-range programming plans for this fall. Martha Williams engaged to wed Albert Umphrey
Mr. and Mrs. Graham E. Martin celebrated their Silver Wedding Anniversary at their home, 522 W. 40th St., Friday, July 15, with an informal oldfashioned barbe-cue of pig, lamb and chicken. The centerpiece was a giant bowl made of ice with carnations embedded in the ice. A light under the bowl gave the center piece a brilliant, dazzling appearance. The barbe-cuing was handled by a long time friends of the Martin's, John Caldwell. In addition to the many messages of congradulations by phone, telegraph and letter or card, there were one hundred thirty fiye persons present to celebrate the occasion. Mr. Umphrey was president of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. He will teach in the Albuquerque school system in the fall and will begin work toward a master’s degree at the llnive^ sity of New Mexico.
MRS. BERTHA BARNETT, 555 W. Wilkins St., is presently convalescing from a 7-week stay in General Hospital. She is the wife of Bill Barnett, well-known member of Elks Lodge No. 104.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Underwood, 446 W. 29th St., returned home July 14 after vacationing in Baltimore, Md. They were guests of his brother and sister-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Underwood. Mr. J. Leonard Underwood, a retired United States Army major, now operates a successful real estate brokerage firm. Their daughter, Cynthia, a June high school graduate, wall enter Morgan State College in Baltimore in September. While in Baltimore, the Underwoods were entertained by Mr. and Mrs. Joe Marshall, Mrs. Elaine Hassel and Mr. ond Mrs.

Mrs. Miller honored Mr. and Mrs. Boyd and daughter, Mrs. Paul Barber, and grandchildren with a cook out Sunday. A lovely time was had by all.

Miss Langford is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Langford, 1129 E. Bradbury Ave. The prosepective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Bradley Sr., 7300 E. Thompson Rd. Miss Langford attends Indiana Central College and Mr. Bradley was graduated from Tennessee State University at Nashville.

The I-Mi-Tu-Wa-Si Club met July 11 at the home of Mrs. William Springfield. 3566 Tacoma. The club held a buffet dinner July 16 for their husbands and friends. Afterwards, a delicious luncheon was served and games were played and prizes won. The next meeting will be with Mrs. Bernette Ross, 1020 W. 29th St. Ida Mae Sullivan is the club reporter. * m # The Grand Body Sister’s of Charity will climax their membership drive Sunday, July 31, at 4 p.m., at their Charity Temple, 1036 N. The Southside Peacetime Charity Club will hold its annual garden party and style show, Sunday, July 24,' from 5 till 7 p.m., in the beautiful yard of Mr. and Mrs. William Wooley, 1620 Harlan St. A wonderful program has been planned. Te Cameo’s met last Wednesday in the home of Miss Bennie Rogers, 3551 N. Rural, to discuss final plans for their semi-formal party to be held July 23, at the Federated Club Home, 2309 N. Capitol. One hundred fifty invitations have been sent out to friends of the .graduating classes from Tech, Attucks, and Shortridge of the year 1960-63. The affair entitled “Golden Memorial” is a reunion of classmates. Other friends and out-of-town guests have been invited, also local clubs. The next club meeting will be held at the home of Miss Mary Peterson, club president 3725 N. Audubon Rd.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Mimms, 348 W. 26th St., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, July 17. A reception was held from 4 till 7 p.m. in the Severin Hotel. They were married July 18, 1916, in Indianapolis. He retired from the C&G foundry as a foreman in 1962 and now operates Mimms’ Cleaners, 2444 Northwestern Ave. He is chairman of the deacon board at Mount Paran Church and a past master of the Waterford Masonic Lodge. He is a 33rd Degree Mason. Mr. and Mrs. Mimms have two daughters, Mrs. LaCurtis Collett of Los Angeles, and Mrs. Ulyeses H. Garrott of Indianapolis; two sons, Willis R. Mimms of Pasadena and Kenneth A. Mimms of San Diego, and eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

The third Annual family reunion of the Page’s estate of Horse’ Cave, Ky., was a gala affair. Mr. Sim Page, who resides at the estate, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Page and family and John Henry Hayes of Horse Cave received the guests. There were eight generations and 92 of the Page family present. Mr. Thomas C. Page of New York had as his guest, Mitchell Harris. Arriving from Chicago was Mr. and Mrs. Richard Oden. Motoring down from Indianapolis were other members of the Page family; Mrs. Rachelle Mae Hayes Roberts and son, William, a carrier for the Recorder; Mrs. Susie Hubbard; Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hubbard and son, Michael; Mrs. Myrtle Page; Tom Page and son, Thurman; Clarence Hayes and Winfred Byrd. Mrs. Henry Mae Johnson and many others. It was a three day affair. A barbecue cookout was the main feature on the fourth of July. There was plenty of food and refreshments. Everyone is hoping next year will be a bigger and even better affair. Miss Laura Rogers Is Contest Winner Miss Laura Rogers, 3330 N. Keystone, an eleven year old who attends School 69 won the honor of “Miss Jones Tabernacle” at a popularity contest given by her Sunday School, Sunday, July 17. Robin Kay Bell gave the welcome address, Zana Hughes of Second Christian Church and Reginald Mosley of the Westhide Church of God played instrumental music for the affair. The children and guests were served refreshments by Sandra Bentley and Leslie Marie Bell. Mrs. Roberta Armstrong is superintendent and Dr. J. Humphrey Lee is pastor.
