1963 to 50 members in 1966. They sponsor an Annual Motorcycle Field Meet every Memorial Day weekend and are planning their second season of cycle races at the Shelbyville Fairground. The Club is dedicated to safe riding and improving the image of motorcycling as a sport. They hold a charter with the American Motorcycle Association and all of their cycle events are A.M.A. sanctioned. They also hold social events; the next event will be a dance held at the Moose Lodge Country Club, March 19th. For information call Donald Miller, 926-0749. The clubhouse at 512 N. Congratulations to our Mixed Pairs winner this month. 1st Imogene Boyd and Max Davis 2nd Jackie Hanley and Harris Travis Players, we have two tournaments in March at the Fall Creeck Y.M.C.A. Wednesday evening, March 2nd, Open Pairs Grade “C” sponsored by the Wednesday Aces Club. Registration at 7 p.m. and play begins at 7:30 n.m. Saturday evening, March 12th Open Pairs Grade “B” sponsored by the Dupli-Kates Club. Registration at 12:30 p.m. and play begins at 1 p.m. Make March, march for Bridge. The City Federation celebrated “Negro History Week” in the form of a lovely program presented by the Federated Charmettes Club. Mrs. Loretta Anderson, president. Mrs. Ida Price was Mistress of Ceremony. Mrs. O’Bannon sang and Mrs. -Anderson was the p i a n i s t. The program stressed negro writ3rs, author, muCLARA s i c i a ns and poets. Phyllis Wheatley was the first negro woman to write a book. A poem was written to George Washington. A reading was given on Famous Negro men entitled “The Negro Man”. The program closed with a trio singing “He Delivered Me.” Everyone enjoyed "the lovely program and felt very proud of all the fine young ladies in the club. Our future club ladies. The next meeting of the City Federation will be March 1st at which time Mr. William Stafford will speak on Youth Opportunity. Mrs. Rachel Overby is the president of the City Federation. Mrs. Amanda Biggers was hostess to the American Beauty Club. They held their meeting last Friday afternoon in the club home. Mrs. Emma Brown, president. This being Negro History week, a lovely

program was presented which closed with a showing of a picture on “Tuberculosis.” The famous Tuskegee Choir furnished music. Rev. John H. Francisco Jr. gave a lecture and showed pictures. The Progressive Needlecraft Club will be entertained in the home of Mrs. Haydee Wilson, 2436 Hillside, Friday at 6 p.m. Mrs. Vernoca Ferguson is president. The Thursday Costrie Club will meet March 3rd. Mrs. Hixia Carroll and Mrs. Jessie Fisher will be hostesses. Mrs. Sarah Allen is president. Mrs. Blanche Dawson entertained the Lend A Hand Club Sunday afternoon. A program and talk on Negro History was presented. Mrs. Fannie Bartlett is president. The Central District is holding their “St. Patrick’s Tea” in the home of the president, 2920 N. Capitol Ave., Sunday, March 6th, starting at 4. The purpose is to give a scholarship. Mrs. Vernoca Ferguson is president. We regret to learn of the passing of Mrs. Mable Goens’ husband last week in Muncie. Mrs. Goens is president of the Millie D. Hoffman Club and a worker for the organization. We all express our sympathy. She resides at 1346 E. 6th St., Muncie, Ind. The Women’s Council will hold their Salad Spread Saturday, 2034 N. Capitol, starting at 4 p.m. Mrs. Fannye Hyde is president.
