Barnes Church To Close Three >tar Program Sun.

BARNES METHODIST CHURCH This coming Sunday, July 28, narks the closing of the great Three Star program at the Barnes Methodist Church, 900 West 30th Street, corner of 30th and Annette St. This annual program is sponsored in two parts, the first part ended in June, the second and last part ends Sunday, July 28. Schedule of services for this celebration are as follows: Sunday School —9:30 a.m., Theodore Winfrey, superintendent. Morning Worship—10:45 a.m. The sermon will be delivered by the pastor, Rev. Charles D. Mills Charles D. Mills, 2069 N. Senate, Apt. 4, was buried in Floral Park Cemetery July 20 following services at Willis Mortuary: He died July 1 at General Hospital. Mr. Mills, 08, had been an employee of the American Foundry until five years ago when he retired. He was a member of Jones Tabernacle AME Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Anna W. Mills.

A former Hoosier, Dr. Martin L. Scott of Chicago, has been named chairman of the United Presbyterian Church’s 30-member Commission on Religion and Race. Attention will be focused ,on giving aid to achieve understanding and justice between people of different races. The Presbyterians authorized $500,000 to operate the

She died July 15 at her home, 2455 N. College. Mrs. Warner, a native of Alabama, had lived in this ciQr 12 years and was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, Rainer Warner; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Chapman; six brothers, Thomas, Herman, Wandell and Harry Fitzgerald and Charles and Larry Chapman, and three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Scruggs, Mrs. Louise Hopkins and Mrs. Phyllis Chapman, all of this city. . *

Ben H. Harder Funeral services for Ben H. Harper, 73, were held July 22 at Christ Temple Apostolic Church, of which he was a member, with burial in Floral Park Cemetery. He died Jujy 16 at his home, 901 Locke, Apt. 554. Born at Madison, Ga., Mr. Harper had lived here 41 years. He was a veteran of World li^ar 7. Survivors include his wif6, Mrs. Lillian Harper, and a sister, Mrs. Charlotte Pinkston of Forest City, Ark.

Mrs. F^pijiia Hottwan Mrs. Fannie Holliman, 76, died July 23 at her home,‘510 N. Blackford. Rites were scheduled for Friday, July 26, at Willis Mortuary, with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. A native of Brandenberg, Ky., Mrs. Holliman had lived m Indianapolis 68 years and was a jnember of Bethel AME Church. Survivors include her husband, Ben Holliman; two daughters, Mrs. Louise Ridley ahd Mrs. Nancy Johnson; two granddaughters, the Misses Diane and Katherine Ridley, all of Indianapolis.
