Hello to all my fans. Please accept my hearty thanks to all, far and near for writing me, calling me, and even those who inquired of my whereabouts. Your scribe has always felt you believed in me and knowing the many people that you know, gives me some points of
merit as a columnist.

Unabasned by possibilities of rain, sorors of Indianapolis’ Gamma Chapter, Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc., met guests on the Green Line Wharf for a cruise and dance aboard the “Steamer Chaperone” on the Ohio River. As the sky cleared and the temperature rose to a balmy 71 degrees, the gracious hostesses greeted the more than 400 guests as they boarded the “Chaperone” for a moonlight cruise—the fourth sponsored by Gamma Chapter. Among dignitaries enjoying the gay boatride was Gamma Phi Delta’s supreme basileus, Kay Davis of Dayton, Ohio, who was elected for another term during the recent national convention at Berkeley, Calif. Dayton’s Omicron Chapter’s basileus Ella Moore was another special guest aboard the steamboat. Providing music for the glorious boatride was the Herman Smith Trio of Cincinnati, who serenaded guests upon arrival from private parties in the various sorors' suites at the Netherlands-Hilton Hotel, which gave special rates for the Indianapolis group’s affair. Guests from Battle Creek, Mich., Dayton, Ohio, Gary, Ind., Anderson, Ind., and Louisville, Ky., joined in the formal dancecruise. The chairman of this year’s excursion was Mrs. Doris Douglass. Among sorors entertaining guests were Miss Josie Hawthorne, Tau Chapter’s basileus, and Gamma Phi Delta’s national second antibasileus, and Mrs. lvalue Lennear, national tamiochus. Other hostesses were Sorors Winifred Smith, Mildred Porter, Lynn Thompson, Rachel Buckner, Barbara Oliver, Mary Farmer, Sadie Perrin, and Ernestine Jackson. Prospective sorors enjoying the activity were Dorothy Reed, Helen DOuglass, and Margaret Landers. Following a resplendent weekend sorors and guests departed for various points. Gamma Chapter members returned Sunday afternoon.
