Single-Ring Ceremony Joins Pair In Marion
The Windward social club held its annual guest night Tuesday of la^t week in the home of Mrs Irene Adair. The “get acquainted” feature consisted of each guest and member being given a colorful paper label imprinted with her name. Mrs. Nelson Baxter assisted a r hostess at the decor: ted table from which punch and canapes were served. Games were played and prizes won by Mesdames Betty Dowdell, Elise Creighton, and Bobbie Hanley. Mrs. Ruby Tlar ton won consolation prize. A hot lunch with beverages was served.

MARION—In a single-ring ceremony at 10 Saturday morning, June 19 in St. Paul’s Roman Catholic church Miss Selma Smith became the bride of Leroy P. Vital. The Very Rev. Msgr. John A. McCarthy officiated in the service before an altar decorated with cat nations and ferns. Given in marriage by her grandfather, Jasper Wilson, the bride was attired in a gown of white Chantilly lace and satin fashioned with a romance neckline, molded bodice accented with an edging of seed pearls, a lace peplum flowing down the sides of the skiit, and long fitted sleeves which came to points over her hands. Her bouffant hooped skirt fell in a cathedral train.

RETURNS HOME: Mrs. Myrtle Faye Cottman, former assistant dean of women at A. and T. college, Greensboro, N. C., is at home with her son at 2802 Sangster ave., after a seven-month visit in California and Mexico. While there she was entertained by a daughter and numerous friends.
Burtus Scott, six-yearold grandson of Mrs. Charity Scott, 961 W. 29th st., boarded an American airlines plane Saturday. June 19 for New York City to visit his mother Mrs. Gaynell Scott, and aunt, Mrs. Mary Greer. He was accompanied to the airport by his grandmother, an uncle, David Greer, and two aunts. After arriving there he called his grandmother to report on the airplane ride. He will spend most of the summer, returning by plane August 28. He plans to visit Niagara Falls.
