Mystery Surrounds Accident at Home Near Winchester.

July 5.—Nellie Odle, age eleven, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ned Odle. six miles north of here, ran to the kitchen of her home Saturday and cried, *T am shot.” Three fingers of her left hand had been blown away and she was burned from her stomach to her chin. She could not tell her parents what had happened. The girl had been in her grandfather’s room. rummaging through some bureau drawers, but. according to the family, no gun or revolver had been In the room. Blood and flesh was spattered against tjie wail. The girl is sa.id to be tn a serious condition.

Mrs. Cook attempted to jump from the automobile and was thrown some distance. One leg was broken and she received many cuts and bruises. She was brought to Reid hospital, ^The^body of Mr. Cook lav on the pilot of the locomotive with a part of the wrecked car. The train ran almost a half mile before it came to a standstill Besides th* widow, Mr. Cook is survived by a son.
