MISCELLANEOUS. Scrofula, or King's Evil. is a constitnional disease, a corruption of the blood br which this fluid becomes vitiated, weak a:. J poor. Being in the circulation, it pervades the whole body, and may burst out in disease in that part of it. Ko organ is free from Its attack, nor is there one which it may not dest roy. The scrofu Ions taint is caused by mercurial disease, lo w li vine disordered or unhealthy (bod, impure air, filth and Biiuy names, me oppressing vices, and, above all. by the venereal infection. Whatever ba it nrioln. it is hereditary in the Constitution, descending " from parents to children, unto the third and muriB generation;- indeed, it seems to be the rod of Him who says, "I will visit the iniquities of the Mbuvt .)m uitnr culioren. Its effects commence by deposition from the blood of corrupt or ulcerous matter, which, in the lungs, liver, and internal organs, is termed tuber cies; in tne glands, swellings; and, on the surface, eruptions or sores. This foul corruption, Which genders in the blood. dAnranua the en. ergies of lite, so that scrofulous constitutions not wmy suner irom scrofulous complaints, but they nave tar less power to withstand the attacks of ouier aiseases; consequently vast numbers perish by diserders which, although not scrofulous in their nature, are still rendered fatal by this taint in the system. Most of the consumption which decimates the human family has its origin directly iu .uwwtvmiuui coniBmiQsuqQ ; aod many aestructiv diseases of the liver, kidneys, brain, and, indeed, of all t he organs, arise from or are aggravated by the same cause. One quarter of all our people are scrofulous ; their persons are invaded by this lurking infection, and their health is undermined by it. To cleanse it from the system we must renovate the blood by an alterative mediolne, and invigorate it by healthy food and exercise. Such a medicine we supply In ... yors's Compound Extract of SarsapariUa, the most effectual remedy which the medical skill of our times can devise for this everywhere prevailing and fatal malady. It is combined from the most active remediate that have been discovered for the expurgation of this foul disorder from the blood, and the rescue of the system from its destructive consequences. Hence itshould be employed for the enre of not only Scrofula, but also those other affections which arias from it, such as Eacrtitb and Skin Discascs. St. Akthont's Fret, Boss, or Ebtsiptlas, Pimples, Pustuxes, Blotch -, Blalns, and Boiua, Tcitoaa, Titter and Salt KatcM, Scald Hbad, BiirawouM, Rheumatism, Stphiutio and Mbbcubiai, Diseases, Dbopst, Dk BitiiT and, indeed, ail OoBUrLAinrs abisino fbom VmATBn on Ikpubb Blood. The popular belief In " imvwritv of thablood" is fonnHnrt in trnth for scrofula U a deceaeration of the blood. The par. ticular purpose and virtue of this SarsapariUa is to purify and regenerate this Tital fluid, without which sound health is impossible in contaminated constitutions. J. "ST H7L 23 o g, FOB THE SPBSDT CUBE OF Intermittent Fever, or Fever and Aaue. Re mittent Fever, Chill Fever, Dumb Aaue. Pe riodical Headache, or Bilious Headache, and muoua jevert, tnaeea.ror tut whole class of disease originating in biliary derangement, caused by the Malaria of Miasmatic Coun tries. .... We axe enabled here to offer tha remedy which, while it cores the above complaints with certainty, is still perfectly harmless in any quantity. Such a remedy is invaluable in districts where these afflicting disorders prevail. This " Cobb expels the miasmatic poison of Fcvxb abb Aaus from the system, and prevents the developments of the disease, if taken on tte first approach of its premonitory symptoms. It is not only the beet remedy ever yet discovered for this class of complaints, but also the cheapest. The large quantity we supply for a dollar brings it within tne reach of everybody j and in bilious districss, where Feveb Ann Aaue DrevaiIs.avarvbodv ahntiM nave it and use it freely, both for cure and protection. A great euperlority of this remedy over any other ever discovered for the speedy and certain cure of Intermittenta is that it contains no Quinine or Mineral, consequently it produces no quinism or injurious effects whatever upon the constitution. Those cured by it are left as heaitny as if they had never had the disease. - Fever and Ague is not alone the consequence of the miasmatic poison. A great variety of disor. dreaa arise from its irritation ; among which are Neuralgia, BhmmatUm, ilouUJfeajl.i'S Bl ' . jic.. K.aracne, Catarrh, Asthma, Palpitation, Painful Affectum of the SpUen, Hytterict, Paimnthe BowtU, Oolie, ParalytU and Derangement of the Stomach, all of which, when originating in this cause, put on the intermittent type, er become periodical. This " Cube " expels the poison from the blood, and consequently cures them all alike. It is an invaluable protection to immigrants, or persons travelling or temporarily residing in the malarious districts. . If taken occasionally or daily while exposed ta the infection, that will be excreted from the syBtem, and cannot accumulate insufficient quantity to ripen into disease. Hence it is even more valuable for protection than cure, and few will ever suffer from Intermittent if they avail themselves of the protection this remedv affords. Prepared by Dr. J C.
