The Scioto A.2, in charge of Capt. Duncan, will leave oar wharf this morning early for New Albany. Passengers and shippers should bear this in mind. A little side-wheel dinkey called the Venus, was at the levee yesterday. She is a miniature steamboat containing two engines, the cylinders of which, a person could carry in the side pocket of his coat, and not know they were there. She had a large flat boat loaded with sheep, which she was handling with all ease. The J. IT. Done left yesterday with all the freight she could carry, having 600 or 800 barrels of flour from Xewburg for reshipmect at Cairo. The W. I. Melay, from Cincinnati, bound to St. Louis, was here on Tuesday night, and discharged about 50 tons of freight. She had a full load, and her cabin was full of passengers. The Luc Eaves left yesterday with a fair trip of freight aDd passengers. The snag which lately lodged in the river above town has disappeared, and loats can keep the channel without any fear of striding. The Lightfoot was here yesterday morning, from St. Louis, bound for Cincinnati. She remained some time diseharging freiUi: The Alilv takes her departure to-thy at 1 0 o'clock, for Cannelton. She is a swift iind reliable boat, and passengers going to thai or way oh)t, should by ail menus take this boat. The MadUon Courier complains that too many youngr infanta, foundlings, are
left on the" steps of the houses in Indianapolis, and recommends a foundling hospital.
