GALLAGHER—John B., died at his home, 1801 Liberty Ave., following a lingering illness, aged 70 years.

Funeral will take place from liis residence Thursday morning at 8:S0 continued services at St. Ann's church at 9 o'clock. Burial at St. Joseph's cemetery.

TODD ON WITNESS STAND.

Traction Company President Called In Electric Light Case. INDIANAPOLIS, June 14.—'Robert I. Todd, president of the Terre Haute, Indianapolis & Eastern Traction Co., against which citizens of Terre Haute filed a case before the public service commission for a reduction of electric light rates, was the principal witness at today's hearinf. Most of' the morning session was devoted to a recital of his. connection with the company, beginning with the time he came here as vice president and general manager.? He was expected to continue his testimony this afternoon.

BOYS PLANT GARDEN.

At last the gardens of the Flora Gulick's Boys' club have been planted. Tuesday afternoon about one dozen boys under the direction of Director H. L. Wann went to the garden at Fourth and Elm streets and re-set the 200 tomota plants donated by J. J. Smith. Wednesday the boys will plant the flower garden at Sixth and Tippecanoe streets on the lot donated by Mrs. A. J. Dunnigan.

DIVES TO PUT OUT FIRE.

EVANSVILLE, Ind., June 14.—When the Ollie S., a gasoline boat, caught fire last night, Captain John W. Waters dived into the river with his clothing afire. He was rescued by fishermen, and will recover from the effects of burns. The Ollie S. was loaded with gasoline, and was in the local harbor. -v
