Mrs. Isaac Strouse on List to Investigate Possibilities of Preserving John Lusk Woodlands.

By Special Correspondent. ROCKVELLiE, Ind., April 29.—Mrs. Isaac H. Strouse has been appointed by Governor Samuel E. Ralston, to act on a committee with Mrs. Eva Woolen, of Indianapolis, and Miss Vida Newson, of Columbus, Ind., to investigate the possibilities of making a public reserve of the forests and woodlands owned by the late John J.^usk, which Includes the well known summer resort, Turkey Run. Miss Newson is president of the State Federation of Woman's clubs which launched the idea and will assist in the furtherance of this proposed reserve.

Married at Bride's Home.

By Special Correspondent. ROCKVILLE, Ind., April 29—The marriage of Miss Mabel Fryberger and Mr. Fein Osborn, of Marshall, occurred at 8 o'clock Wednesday evening at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Fryberger, on High street. The Rev. Albert L-. Miller, of the Methodist Episcopal church, performed the ceremony. Refreshments were served and an array of pretty gifts displayed. The home was decorated in spring blooms. Mr. and Mrs. Osbprn have furnished a home in Marshall where they will reside until fall when they will go to Annapolis where Mr. Osborne is principal of the public school.

Released on Behavior.

ROCKVILLE, Ind., April 29.—John Watson of Dana, who was arrested for aiding in the delinquency of Theresa Daniel of Rockville, was released by the court from imprisonment upon good behavior to appear for trial later. Watson is 24 years old and a blacksmith. Miss Daniel was permitted to go home with her parents.

NAMES TAX COMMISSION.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., April 29.— Governor Ralston today named the five members of the commission on taxation provided for by the recent legislature to investigate the problem of taxation in Indiana and consider what changes are necessary in the constitution and laws of the state to make them into just and equitable system. The members named are:

William A. Rawles, progressive, professor of economics in Indiana university Fred Sims, republican, Indianapolis, former secretary of state and state tax commissioner: Jacob P. Dunn, democrat, city controller of Indianapolis William L. Elder, democrat. Indianapolis real estate man Thomas D. Brookshire, democrat, Roachdale, farmer.

CONTEMPT CASE IS DELAYED.

Army Officer Faces Charge of Criticizing Court. LOGANSPORT, Ind., April 29.—The case of contempt of court against Captain Thomas F. Ryan, U. S. A., until recently recruiting agent in Indianapolis, which was set for hearing in the Cass circuit court today, has been continued until tomorrow because M. Fansler, the attorney appointed special deputy prosecutor to try the case, was called out of the city. The charge against Ryan grew out of the publication in a Logansport newspaper of a letter written by Ryan after it had been suggested in court at Logansport that suspended sentences be given two young men charged with highway robbery, on condition they join the regular army. Ryan's letter resented the reflection on the army, declaring it was no school for criminals. He also criticised Judge Lairey.

HURT WHEN HORSE FALLS.
