Clotllde Cummlngs, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Cummlngs, has recovered from threatened appendicitis, and after a two weeks' treatment at St. Anthony's hospital, Terre Haute, ha returned home.

Mrs. Whitlock, of Terre Haute, spent the week here with her husband, who is representing the state in the Ehrmann murder trial. Mrs. Whitlock was formerly Miss Bird Smith and resided for a time with her parents in Rockville.

Mrs. Walter C. Mand and daughter, Mary Catherine, of Terre Haute, are visiting her mother, Mrs. A. F. White. Mr. Mand will spend the week-end here.

Charles Overman, Mr. and Mrs. King and Miss H6len Duncan, of Chicago, returned Monday after visiting the families of J. D. Overman and L. Edgar Adams. James H. Overman, of St. Paul, Minn., was also a week-end guest.

J. S. McFaddin gave a dinner party Tuesday evening at his home in Howard street. His guests were members of the Rockville and Vigo county ba^s, ho are attorneys with him in the Ehrmann murder case on trial here.

MR. ANII MRS. JAMES A. HICKS, SIX SONS AND ONLY DAUGHTER.

KANSAS, 111., Oct. 17.—Mr. and Mrs. James A. Hicks, one of the highly respectable and esteemed old couples of rhis city, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary October 10. They were surrounded by all of their children with the exception of one daughter, Minnie, who died some years ago. Mr. Hicks is 72 and his wife 70 years of age. The occasion was a happy event in the lives of the beloved couple.

The jubilee was celebrated at the old homestead, where all the children were born.

They were married October 10, lk6.4, at Paris, 111., by Rev. Taggert, Presbyterian minister, and took up their residence at Kansas, where they have continuously resided since.

The other guests besides the wives and children of the boys present were Mr. and Mrs. H. K. Spragg and wife, of Kansas, and Mrs. D. R. Noonan and mother, Mrs. J. W. Purcell, of Paris. Tho decorations were green, white and gold, and the wedding cake was prepared by the Root store.

A girl baby was bom Tuesday to Mr. and Mrs. John Beatton. Mrs. C. C. Aldrich entertained her Sunday school class, the infant class, at her home, Tuesday afternoon. Games were played and popcorn balls, cookies and doughnuts were served.

Mr. and Mrs. Gene Lang, of Indianapolis, were Dana visitors Sunday. J. G. Davis and family motored to Helts Prairie Sunday and spent the day with his brother, Howard Danes.

Mrs B. F. Lang went to Kokomo Monday to visit her daughter, Mrs. F. E. Jumps. Mr. Lang accompanied her to Indianapolis, where he had business.

The boy scouts met with the assistant scoutmaster. Prof. E. M. Bower, Monday night, and held a reception for their scout master, Rev. Beebee, who has been returned here for another year. The bovs planned a hike for next Friday night.

Mr. and Mrs. Cale Hollingsworth left Sunday night for their home in New York after a three weeks' visit here.

Mrs. Wes Van Duyn returned to this place Saturday after spending four years in Colorado. She will spend the winter here, most of the time with her son. Cleve.
