That the total disregard of the writ of habeas corput by the authorities over us, nnd the seizure and iio prison ment of the citizens of loyal States where the judiciary is in full operation, without warrant of law and without afaimug any entire or giving to the party arrested any opportunity of defense, are flagrant iolationsof the Con-

Quarters, fuel and medical attendance are always provided by the Government without deduction from the soldier's pay. If a soldier should become disabled in the line of his duties, the law provides for him a pension, or be may, if he prefer it, obtain admission into the Military Asylum, which will atTord him a comfortable home so long as he may wish to receive its benefits. To the above pay for private soldiers must be added the additional $2 a month tobe paid during service, tlie $100 bounty at the end of the war, which has already been provided for, and the quarter section of" land that Cnjrress will provide for at its coming session.
