The expenses of eaeh committee-man wlH be defrayed, to and from the place of drawing; also, during the drawing, ami for their services, die sum of 93.00 per

The drawing will take place In CentreTille, Appanoose county, Iowa, commencing on the first day of July, lR5fi,and continue from day to day uatil compte ted. A printed copy of the drawlag, certified to by the committee, and attested by a p-oper officer, will be
sent in all cases, to Die ticket-holders.
The Ticket* are J2.50 each, but wbero ten, ami less than twenty-fire, are sold to one man 4r club of men,

Proprietor of the Centreville Gift Enterprise, to be drawn in C'entreville, Appanoose county, Iowa, on the Ut day ^f July, 1856, — dollars, it being the proceeds of the sale of Tickets, to be |>aiJ thirty day* after drawing, provided the drawing takes place at the time, and is conducted in the manner described in the bills; and if not, then this is to ire void. The receipt must be signed by the person with whom the money is left on deposit rive per cent, will be allowed de|>osUor* on the ainount of their deposits. All money sent at my risk, where the Postmaster* receipt is taken, and in no case will 1 be responsible where this is not complied with. Any money sent, or returns mailed previous to the commencement of the drawing, will be credited, even if they arrive after the drawing commences. Any Tickets Agents cannot sell, must be mailed previous to the drawing. There will be no prizes paid on any ‘Tickets where.this rule is not complied with. I am receiving letters daily from every section of the country, Inquiring how the drawing will be conducted by the committee. It requires a great deal of time and expense to answer them all separately. This is intended as an explanation to all. There will be 40,0)8) bal h.U, cut of u uniform size, and numbered Irom I to 40.1X8) inclusive, Just the same as the tickets. Those ballots will be put into a wheel and thoroughly mixed, and a boy will be selected by the committee, who will be blind-folded, and bis arm bared to the shoulder so that there cannot bo any possible deception. The flrst^ballot drawn out, the person bolding the ticket wilh the number corresponding, will draw the first prize, or No. I in the bills. The person holding the ticket with the number corresponding with the 2d drawn ballot, will draw the second prize as per bills, and so on until they are all drawn of the price of the ticket and over; the remainder being uniform “ 81 each,” there will be no necessity of drawing them. of has afew Tickets for*ale. In order to give me sufficient time to notify the Agent In the city or town where they are entitled to chooae the, committee to su|>erintend the drawing and distribution; it will be necessary for each Agent to report to me as early as the first of June, the number of Ticket* sold, also the number of inhabitants. It will be necessary for each connnitiee-man to have a certificate, signed by the Acont m tmr rown wnere he has been chosen, that he Is the person selected by a majority of ihe Ticket-holders of that town, ff the committee do not arrive in time to commence the drawing by the- first of July, there will have to be others selected in their place, for the drawing must ami will commence on the first of July.
