I am not in the habit of noticing newspaper articles generally, but as you desire to know whether I ever stated to the editor of the Evansville Journo/ that Gov. Wright said "ho would see hell frozen over six feet deep before he would call the late Fnsion Legislature together," I would most respectfully reply that I have not the honor of an acquaintance with the editor of that paper, and that I never did say that Gov. Wright said so. When asked the question as to the probability of the Gov. calling them together, I may have said that the Gov. would see hell frozen over six feet deep before he would do so, but I said so on my own judgment, believing that it would require such au extraordinary contingency before his Excellency
