The meeting was organised by calling J. G. Doughty to the Chair, and appointing Mr. N. Stanton, Secretary. After the object# of tto meeting were stated, on motion a committee of nine wee appointed to make full and complete arrange ments for celebrating the birth-day of Franklin, by having a speech and tapper at MaeonIC Hall. The following gentlemen were appointed eaid committee: A. H. Brown, of the Sentinel; George Armor, of the Journal; H. S. Garner of the Chanticleer; H. C. Dill, of the Union; N. Stanton of the Free Democrat; J. Boetticher, of the VolksWatt; Mr. Kale of the Locomotive; Mr. Heninger of the Free Pre»*#, and Mr. Leon of the Goepel Herald.
