After the Postoffice.
Candidates for the poBtollice are already springing up thicker than hops, and it is safe to say that Mr. Bonnell won't have lunch trouble in finding a successor. Among other candidates Mr. Mike McCarty, the accomplished "oil ot joy" vender of norLh Green street is mentioned, but his chances are Raid to be slim. Will Henkle and .lore Keeney, jr., an oth eager aspirants, and .lohn Booe, Wul'wr Hulott and a whole raft of others are known to bo just on the point of expiring for that lovely job.
Tho Worthy Doctor Mourns. Dr. T. J. Griffith, the gallant Archilles of the Montgomery county I'ro hibitioni6te, is evidently both surprised and grieved at Bidwell's defeat. All tie fall the genial face of the California wine making Prohibitionist has 6iuiled from the doctor's front window on the weary passer by every lineament seeming to implore beseeohingly and ljeseoeb imploringly "vote fur me." This morning every one going past the doctor's place noticed that the picture was deeuly draped in mourning. The doctor evidently feels badly and had, perhaps, best visit Bidwell's winery and take a drop or two for his stomach's sake.
Tse County Election.
The canvassing board met this morning and elected Bedt Snyder chairman and H. B. Iluletl clerk by virtue of his office. The board is still in session and will not complete its work until late tonight and maybe not until to-morrow.
As will be seen from THE JOCHXAL'S table two or three of the Republicans are certainly elected. The claimed Democratic majorities are all cut down except on the national ticket which the Democrats seem to have carried. The election of Elmore and Peterson is conceded by the Democrats and the returns show that Davis and Munhall are also ahesd. Both parties are claiming these three offices and it will require the official canvass to settle the matter. This may result in several little surprise parties. The county ticket is showing up much better than the Republicans hoped for this time yfsterday.
Happily Married.
Jesse W. Canine, of Wavelahd, and Miss Leila Bryant Ilanna were united in marriage at high noon to-day at tho residence of the bride's father, William Hanna, on High street. Tee place was elaborately and tastefully decorated with vineB and flowers and presented a most handsome appearance. The wedding march was played by Mrs. T. L. Hannn, of Waveland, and the ceremony was performed by Rev. T. J. Shuey of the same place in a most solemn and impressive manner. The bride, an exceedin gly pretty young lady, was attired in a traveling suit of navy blue bride cloth. Immediately after the ceremony the wedding dinner, a sumptuous repast, was served and congratulations were extended by the large company of guestsThe htippy couple received a large number of very beautifnl presents. They left on the evening train for their future home in Waveland attended by the best wishes of all their numerous friends.

Purdue has consented that he be played by DePauw in the Thanks giving game. "Sport" Donnelly, one of Purdue's coacher's, got into an altercation with the Chicago Athletio foot ball eleven, of which he is a member, and says that he won't play with J,hem in the future. DAHMNGTON, NOV. 10, 1892.—I take tVis method ot thanking eaoli and ovary Kepublican in Franklin township for their untiring efforts in behalf of protection from the opening of tie cam paign until the Inst ticket vrae counted on the morning of the 9th. Especial thanks is due the Harrison club, as Franklin township is reliably Democratic from 20 to 30 votes. We made again of at least 35 votes. Had all tho townships done 8b well as we the result would have been different. We attribute our Biicoess to the fact that no Democrat was allowed within two squares of our room on meeting night. Therefore none were permitted to join us. Although defeated let us not be discouraged, but be ready at each and every call to rally round the flag and assist to down the rag. Again thanking you all let us keep right on and hold Franklin township solidly Republican. SAM S. MARTIN.

Coi.iMiUA. S Nov. 10.—The serenity of an otherwise remarkably quiet election was broken Tuesday veiling by a tragedy »i Holland's preduct. in Anderson county. Columbus Glenn. democratic manager of election, was killed by Hob Carter, a republican federal supervisor. Glenn was unarmed. In the melee that followed Carter was fatally injured and three others", .lim and Hampton Karle (white) and Jiin Holland (colored), were seriously injured. The cause of the tragedy is not known.
MONTHOMKUV, Ala., Nov 10.—A fatal difficulty oceured here Tuesday evening between William Meteulf and K. C'. Randolph, probate judge of Montgomery county. Mctealf received a bullet wound in the abdomen from a revolver in the hands of Randolph and died at 10 o'clock. The shooting occurred on the street, but there are no eyewitnesses who can state the circumstances that led to the trouble. It is generally understood, however, that the cause grew out of polities. Mctealf was a Ivolb supporter in the state election and for the people's party in the present contest. Randolph has always been an uncompromising democrat. He surrendered to the authorities, and is now a prisoner.
