Profile... Cal Kuphally Associate Athletic Director Cal Kuphall is in his first year as Ball State’s associate athletics director. Kuphall joined the staff Aug. 5 after serving the last six years as an assistant athletics director for marketing and promotions at Arkansas State University. While at ASU, Kuphall helped develop comprehensive marketing and promotion plans for 14 men’s and women’s varsity sports. He also identified potential corporate sponsors, developed sponsorship proposals for corporate sponsors and made sponsorship presentations to the corporate community. Prior to his stint at Arkansas State, Kuphall was the director of athletics and acting assistant dean for the College of Professional Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point for two years. At UWSP. he supervised and coordinated all phases of the school's 18-sport men's and women’s intercollegiate athletics program. Kuphall served from January 1984 to August 1988 as an assistant athletics director for operations and athletics business manager at the University of Tulsa. He was Tulsa's sports information director from August 1983 to January 1984. Kuphall also served as sports information director and ticket manager at West Texas State University from 1979 to 1983.
